  • Movieing On #229: The Outlaw Josey Wales
tvtropes.org defines the “Roaring Rampage of Revenge” trope as:
The Roaring Rampage of Revenge differs from the standard Revenge plot in that our hero dispenses with the Machiavellian plotting that would define a classic revenge tale and goes straight for the bloodshed, either in a single, violent Unstoppable Rage or Tranquil Fury-fueled rampage on the bad guy’s home base, or a more methodical “working one’s way up the food chain” from lesser foes to the bigger fish.
… And that’s pretty much this movie.

  • Movieing On #228: Persuasion
Funds were running a little low in the CSICON coffers, so we needed to abandon CSICON Towers and move to a far less luxurious estate in Bath. Luckily, we found some love along the way, so it wasn’t all bad. Well, unless you ask Louisa and kid-whose-name-nobody-remembers, they got injured out of the story rather quickly and were left behind.

  • Movieing On #227: Au Revoir Les Enfants
Every so often, we go out on an excursion. This time around, we’re all dressing up as young boys. In France. In a Catholic school … During World War Two. It’s not quite what we’re accustomed to, so you’ll have to excuse us for not really being very coherent here. It’s not easy being us.

  • Movieing On #226: The Goonies
When Toerag, Nancy, and Linnea came over to Breki’s place, they decided to visit the attic that they had all known about as being off limits for ages but somehow never taken the opportunity to visit. The treasure map that they found led them all on a terrific adventure full of cliché, tropes and screaming children. Some of them came out liking it, others did not. It’s a wonderful thing.

  • Movieing On #225: North By Northwest
A hapless New York advertising executive is mistaken for a government agent by a group of foreign spies and is pursued across the country as he looks for a way to survive. No, this is not the story of how Breki Tomasson came to launch the CSICON podcasting network – this is the synopsis for the Alfred Hitchcock classic North By Northwest.

  • Movieing On #224: The Great Gatsby
In 1974, we were given a movie based on a book published in 1925 about events happening in 1922. A better version was made in 2013 starring an actor born in 1974, bringing us full circle.
So, yeah, we’ve watched the 1974 version of The Great Gatsby and talked about it.

  • Movieing On #223: Comfort and Joy
Scotland in 1984 was a very different place – at least if you believe this movie. Vicious gang wars were fought with oversized clown-like hammers over … unwritten rules surrounding territory rights for two rivaling Italian ice cream makers. It’s all very confusing, really, but the movie is good! And in the end, isn’t that what matters?

  • Movieing On #222: Wild at Heart
As per usual, Breki digs deep in the archives of terrible movies to find the next movie to subject the crew of Movieing On to. Another movie that deserves it’s three point something score. Another movie to add to the list of movies that we should probably never watch again.
… But hey, at least we have a new fourth member of the show and can go back to not feeling like an incomplete group, right? That’s always nice.

  • Movieing On #221: Roxanne
In Roxanne, we learn that space aliens with suction cups for hands want to have sex with older women, that Chris is afraid of worms, that you can’t run a fire department with the seven banana brothers and that there are over fifty objects in space.
Somewhere in the midst of all these reveals, we also find the classic story about a man who falls in love with a woman who falls in love with another man who gets help from the first man in order to get the woman that he, too, has fallen in love with until the woman realizes it was the first man she was actually falling in love with the entire time.

  • Movieing On #220: The Grapes of Wrath
Times are tough all over. The Movieing On crew really loved their old home, but the CSICON network is being hit hard by DDOS attacks from all over, and they’ve been forced to pick up their gear and leave. It’s a long journey, and there’s no guarantee they’re all going to make it. Some might die on the long road that lies ahead … Still; what can you do? You can’t stay here, right?
