  • Dry January, February, March?
Alcohol getting the better of you? Think back to this time last year and If it wasn’t toilet rolls you were stockpiling then alcohol came a close second if the photos posted on facebook were anything to go by.
Could you go a day a week a month a year without alcohol? I am a non-drinker and have been for most of my adult life for one reason or another.
My guest Anne gilkes began to think she might have a problem with alcohol and sought advice from her GP who reassured her that the half to full bottle of wine she was consuming each night was ok. I am looking forward to chatting with Anne to hear how she is now helping other women in this same predicament.

  • The Attitudes of Mindfulness - A Beginner's mind
    It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day...
When we approach each new day with a beginner's mind it can shine a light of wonder on even the most mundane objects, situations, experiences and bring us right into the present moment.
Our brains are constantly trying to predict the future, connect the dots, make associations and this preference for the automatic is what takes us down the old familiar rabbit hole too readily on occasion. By taking a moment to consider, to notice, to be curious we bring ourselves to consciousness.
Checkout this podcast conversation with Mindfulness Teacher Sune Markowitz Schulman for tips and strategies. Grab your ear buds and take a stroll or settle down with a cup of herbal tea.

  • Are you Singing or Croaking your way through midlife?
I was keen to find out why my soprano voice has turned against me in middle age and to discover strategies to cajole it back to life. This conversation with opera singer and singing teacher Rebecca Reid will shed some light on how ageing affects how your voice sounds and how your vocal cords perform.
So it stands to reason that your age can also influence your singing technique, ability, and performance. Our overall health has a bearing and the old adage use it or lose it rears its head again. Warning: This podcast contains some instances of terrible singing! (mine not Rebeccas)
Grab your earbuds and make a start on your 10,000 steps or settle down with a cuppa and ‘hum a merry tune’
