Pink Floyd Is Charting A New No. 1 Album Thanks To A Special Re-Release!  This midweek music break features some of my favorite Pink Floyd Covers.

It’s 2025 and Pink Floyd is back at No. 1. The legendary rock band scores a brand new chart-topping album in the United Kingdom as At Pompeii - MCMLXXII debuts in first place on the list of the most consumed full-lengths and EPs in the country. Pink Floyd has been on quite the winning streak lately, with both a hugely successful concert film re-release and now a best-selling album to go with it, and both come from recordings made more than half a century ago.

1979 Ford’s Pinto automobile design allowed its fuel tank to be easily damaged during a rear-end collision, sometimes resulting in deadly fires and explosions. Scrappy-Doo was first added to the cast of Scooby-Doo. On your radio the #1 song was Reunited – Peaches & Herb. Less than 2 weeks from the beginning of Movie Season at the Drive-In.

For over 40 years, Mike Campbell was an integral member of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers as their lead guitarist, co-songwriter and co-producer. After Petty died in 2017, Campbell took on a new role in his long musical career: singer and leader of his current band, the Dirty Knobs... This motivation for this weeks music break.  I'm also featuring some great Pittsburgh artists. Links for shows below and thanks for taking this break with me.  ~Mr. Dana www.mrdanastuff.com

Celebrating the hits this week in 1967. Fun Facts like: A McDonald's restaurant in Uniontown, Pennsylvania sold the world's first Big Mac for 45 cents. Today, one Big Mac costs around $5.15 in the United States. And Time magazine's "Person of the Year" was President Lyndon Johnson. The Beatles were on your radio along with Lesley Gore, Tom Jones and Simon & Garfunkel to name a few.  Looking forward to Movie Season at the Drive-In! About Mr. Dana Presents

From the publisher's feed

Welcome to the Rumpus Room. I’m Mr. Dana, a retired radio guy with over 40 years of broadcasting experience. Now that I’m off the clock, Mr. Dana Presents: Rumpus Room Radio is simply my way of sharing a lifelong music hobby straight from my home to yours. This isn't an "oldies show”, it’s a straightforward music program for hip seniors who enjoy hearing familiar tunes presented with a little thought behind them. For me, this show is a personal musical diary. I keep the production simple, old-school, and entirely focused on the tracks themselves. I try to put a lot of care into how the songs transition from one to the next, building music blocks that just make sense together. Between the records, I'll share some brief histories, chart positions, and fun facts about the artists. Our core focus covers the music we grew up with from 1950 to 1999, but I also include a Release Radar segment to feature newer music that fits the vibe. You can catch two different sessions every week:
