Mr. R. H. Dixon – Rapidly Rotating Records 78RPM Show 21 Oct 2018

Listen Later

Welcome to Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78RPM records of the 1920s and’30s.

The sole birthday tribute on this week’s edition of the show belongs to Reginald Dixon, organist at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool, England for 40 years! In the first segment we’re going to get the shivers, but it has nothing to do with the upcoming celebration of Halloween. Thanks to my high school English teacher, Verna Reynolds, I know what a simile is, and in the third segment of the show I’ll play some musical similes. We’ll get some reminders in the fourth segment and we’ll finish up by making some things.  If you enjoy the show, please let us know by leaving a comment on the website or the Facebook page or sending an email to [email protected]. And remember, your requests and topic segments are always welcome. As always, just click on the link below to instantly listen streaming online and/or download the show.

Enjoy the show!
