  • It's Okay To Say We're Smarter Than Them
    Let's just be realistic here.
I don't think Republicans or people that fall for their talking points are stupid to the point of not being able to function as adults.
Clearly, they've figured out things like driving to and from work. They've managed to keep bills paid well enough. Some of them are even kind of good at their jobs when they're on the clock.
When we say these people are stupid, we're talking about intellectually and philosophically. These people don't read. They don't think beyond conventional wisdom and cultural and personal biases.
They're obsessed with arguing because they think that when we become exasperated and disengage, they "won." They think they've "stumped" us with their dazzling rhetorical performance. They aren't even smart enough to understand that we stop talking with them because we know they were never interested in having their conclusions challenged. They don't care about context, facts, data, or expertise. They care about who's the loudest and said the most words.

  • Judge upholds Ohio’s gender-affirming care ban
A Franklin County judge ruled Tuesday that Ohio’s controversial ban on gender-affirming health care for transgender youth can take effect.
Republican Franklin County Court of Common Pleas Judge Michael Holbrook originally issued a temporary restraining order on all parts of House Bill 68 on April 16, but on Tuesday he ruled the TRO has been vacated.

'I am speaking now': Harris rally in Michigan interrupted by pro-Palestinian protesters
    Aug. 7, 2024, 11:46 PM EDT
By Nnamdi Egwuonwu, Jillian Frankel and Gabe Gutierrez
DETROIT — A handful of pro-Palestinian protesters interrupted Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris during her rally remarks at an airport hangar Wednesday night — prompting her to reprise a familiar line.
About halfway through the vice president’s remarks, roughly half a dozen protesters began to chant, “Kamala, Kamala you can’t hide! We won’t vote for genocide.”
Harris first acknowledged the protesters by borrowing a strategy President Joe Biden used earlier this cycle when pro-Palestinian demonstrators routinely interrupted his events, affirming the protesters’ right to voice their opinions while trying to redirect attention to the remarks.
“I’m here because we believe in democracy. Everyone’s voice matters,” she said. “But I am speaking now. I am speaking now.”
Harris famously told then-Vice President Mike Pence "I'm speaking" in cross-talk at a vice presidential debate during the 2020 election cycle.
As the protests continued, Harris’ tone grew more forceful.
“You know what? If you want Donald Trump to win, then say that. Otherwise, I’m speaking,” Harris said, aided by a crowd of several thousand attendees who chanted “Kamala” in an effort to drown out the protests.

  • Sonya Massey - Episode 4 - Combative Officers
    FROM USA TODAY
Massey's family members and civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who is representing the family, have acknowledged on several occasions that Massey struggled with her mental health.
"She was dealing with some issues," Crump said in an appearance in Springfield on July 22. "She needed a helping hand. She didn't need a bullet to the face."
In the 911 call placed shortly after 9 a.m. on July 5, Donna Massey described her daughter's behavior and what she was experiencing. "The mental health people told me to call 911 because she could get in her car and kill herself or somebody. She's run a couple of red lights," she told dispatch.
Donna Massey said Sonya Massey wasn't a danger to herself and "she's not a danger to me."
"I don't want you guys to hurt her, please," she added.

  • Sonya Massey - Episode 4 - Sean Grayson Lies On Reports
I'm still reading every update I can on Sean Grayson. He is the normal cop whom forgot to tell his co-worker to disable the body camera before taking Sonya Massey's life.
The Folks down at NBC obtained a recording of him being reprimanded at a previous job for lying about where he was before a high speed chase. Lying about the high speed chase. Also: For refusing the end the high speed chase when he was told to by his boss.
The high speed chase ultimately ended with him hitting a deer... at high speed.
This ifnormation was in his personel file.
Maybe ALL COPS should have their files researched.
If it's only a few bad apples, we can remove them from the basket as it were.
I think that ALL COPS should agree with this idea because..
IF YOU DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG, YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.

  • Florida School Board To Decide On How To Best Enact Transphobic Cruelty
At the time of typing this, it is 3:15pm EST.
A school board meeting is being held in Broward County, Florida about firing a parent whom allowed her daughter to play on the volleyball team.  Her daughter is transgender.
One week ago most of the School board members seemed as though they were ready to reject the recommendation that the parent be fired as a computer information specialist.
According to reporting at NBC Miami 6 South Florida:
"many also said they didn't think Norton should go unpunished for violating the state's Fairness in Women’s Sports Act, which Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Republican-led Legislature approved in 2021. The law, which the Broward board lobbied against, bars trans students from participating in girls and women's sports."
A committe for discrict recommended a 10 day suspension. An adjacent committe argued for 5 days.
The daughter is now 16, class president, homecoming princess and just trying to live her girl life without all of these weirdo azz transphobes bothering her. She has been physically marginalized out of the shcool building and is currently taking classes online.
Her family is currently in a federal lawsuit against Florida and this law as violation of her civil rights. It is reported that she began taking puberty blockers at age 11 and takes estrogen.
One more quote directly from 6 South Florida:
"When investigators interviewed three Monarch volleyball players, they said the team did not change clothes or shower together, so they were never disrobed with Norton’s daughter. All three said they knew or suspected Norton’s daughter is transgender, but it didn’t bother them that she was on the team."
