In today's episode I am beyond excited to be introducing to you the unbelievably talented, and gifted winemaker himself David Tate.
David's been making wine for quite some time now, but his journey really began years ago when he flew to Australia with nothing but change in his pocket and took a position in the wine industry in the Barossa Valley.
Since then, David's had the privilege of making wine in countries such as New Zealand and France, and currently makes wine in the Spring Mountain District of Napa Valley.
David talks about the privilege he has to be the winemaker for Barnett Vineyards since 2007, and how honored he is to be a part of the legacy that Hal and Fiona Barnett have created.
David talks about how he's known for making Merlot, considering he produces so much Cabernet Sauvigno,n and how he's bringing Merlot back so to speak, which I couldn't agree more!
David also talks about his love for mountain fruit, in particular Mount Veeder, and in particular his personal brand, Tate Wine.
One of the things I really enjoy about this episode is how David demonstrates such a willingness to do whatever it takes to make it in the wine industry. His resilience to be successful in all areas of his life including the wine industry really says a lot about him and the character David displays in all facets of his life.
I know for a fact that the value you are going to get from this episode is going to be huge so get ready because you are in for a treat!

In today's episode, I have the privilege of sharing in conversation with my wife Jennifer as we talk about the journey of learning about wine. One way we've learned so much and grown as a couple with wine is through experiences.
With wine being so vast and full of so much information you can't help but marvel at all the possibilities wine has to offer. So many memories are shared and created with wine, which is one of the things that makes wine so amazing.
Take this opportunity to really think about what you love most about wine when you're making memories with your loved ones. Cheers.

In today's episode I have the privilege of interviewing the epic and most talented winemaker, David Grega! David grew up in Sacramento, CA and was a Combat Veteran during the Iraqi war.
In 2008, David decided to follow his dreams of becoming a winemaker and worked his first harvest in Napa Valley. David's had a tremendous amount of success in the wine industry and is very fortunate to work alongside Head Winemaker Jeff Ames.
Jeff and David make wine and act as wine consultants for 8 different clinets, most of which are some of the most influential cult brands in Napa Valley; brands such as Boich Family Cellars, Rudius Wines, and TOR Wines just to name a few.
In this episode David talks a lot about terroir and how he believes terroir is everything when it comes to making exceptional California wines such as his. David also talks about Rhone wines and his love and infatuation for Rhone wines, and how these wines have had such a magnificant influence on his career as a winemaker.
David of course talks about how important family is, especially his beautiful Fiance' who has always been a rock and a foundation not only for him as a winemaker, but also as a man.
I know you are going to get so much value out of this episode so get ready because you are going to love this interview.

In today's episode, I'll explain to you the benefits of aerating wine and how aerating wine can really maximize your overall wine tasting experience.
With an aerator, oxygen is introduced to the wine through a venturi effect. The purpose of this is to completely open up the wine so it can display everything it has to offer, but in a much quicker fashion. This is a lot faster than if you would have simply poured the wine from the bottle into the glass.
The key thing to remember when aerating wine is an aerator is meant to speed up time. Whether the bouquet you get on the nose, or the effects it has on your palate, an aerator will do wonders in magnifying all the anticipations you are feeling about that wine, and so much more.
I hope you enjoy this episode, and cheers.

Words cannot express how incredibly excited I am to be presenting to you my first ever Mr. Wine Guy Podcast episode with none other than the legendary winemaker, Tony Biagi.
Tony is the winemaker for Hourglass Winery, Amici Cellars, Olema Wines, and a consultant winemaker for Sinegal Estate Winery, just to name a few. In addition, Tony also has the privilege of creating wines for his personal brand, Patria Wines.
Tony's winemaking career really scales much further than that being the previous winemaker for brands such as Duckhorn Vineyards, Odette Estate, Cade Estate Winery, Plumpjack Estate Winery, and Paraduxx Winery. I think it's safe to say Tony Biagi is the Mount Rushmore winemaking-figure in the world of wine today as we know it.
Not only is Tony such an incredible winemaker, he's also one of the most amazing human beings you could ever ask for. I think this is one of the things I find most inspiring in this podcast, which I know you will to.
Tony's family taught him early on, "Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life." Tony shows us just how influential that lesson was and how using it to his advantage has paved the way for the enormous amounts of success he's achieved in the wine industry.
Tony also stresses the importance of mentors and how gentleman like Dan Duckhorn and Tom Rinaldi really inspired him to be everything he could be, pushing the envelope through creativity and inspiration, not only as a winemaker but as a person.
Again, I cannot wait for you to experience this podcast for everything it has to offer. Sit back, relax, and get ready to dive in because this is going to be incredible.

In this episode I explain how a little bit of fear and vulnerability propelled me to a level of working with some of the most influential winemakers Napa Valley has to offer. No matter who you are, we all experience things in life that present opportunities to us that we know we should go through with. It's how we respond to the circumstances that truly defines who we are as a person. I'll also share how the importance of faith, transparency, and a lot of times uncomfortability can not only get you to where you want to go, but also make you unbelievably happy in the process.
