My dad has lived a vulnerable life in front of me. He is a recovering alcoholic and has been sober for a long time now. I have watched him struggle, learn, grow, and become a wonderful human that not only loves his family but everyone around him. Some of the things I learned from him he intentionally taught me. Things like how to slow dance, how to tithe, how to drive a boat, and that the beach is just as fun in the winter. Other things I learned from him, I learned from observing the way he lives his life.
Given enough time, I could write a book about all of the things I have learned from my dad. Instead of doing that, I’m going to share some of my favorite things about him that I hope I pass along to my kids.
