As believers we are always to give thanks to the Lord. This Psalm begins and ends with that exhoration to give thanks. Woven throughout this Psalm is great truth that provokes us to give thanks. that being the mercy of God. His mercy is seen throughout history and redemption. God's mercy to His people is forever and for that we must give thanks.

How important is praise to the Christian life- Do we praise the Lord as we ought to- This world is full of negativity and problems that often steal away our praise we should be giving the Lord every day. This text reminds us of the importance of praising the Lord.

How many gospels are there- There is only one gospel that actually saves sinful men. Yet there have been many false gospels proclaimed through the years. These false gospels permeate today and every believer must on guard against any false gospel. There was a perverted gospel creeping into the churches of Galatia in their day. Paul writes to the Galatians warning them and gives a serious correction to those preaching any other gospel than the gospel of grace in Jesus Christ alone.

The humanity of Jesus is just as essential to the redemption of mankind as is the deity of Jesus. His humanity reveals the depth of his humility as the Son of God and what He experienced in His life on earth. In this part 1 we see the cultural and physical aspects of Jesus' humanity on earth. His humanity should provoke all believers to live for Him with their life in this world.

Do you have an anchor for your life- As believers, Jesus is our immovable anchor. Our hope is rooted in Him and He keeps us steadfast. In the Christian life of knowing Jesus, there are some specific anchors we enable us to be steadfast Chrsitians in this troublesome world.

What is the gospel of Jesus- It is the good news that Jesus came to save sinners by His own sacrificial death and resurrection. What Jesus has done for us and what He does in us for salvation is all of grace. Yet, in the early days of the church there was great attack on the gospel of grace. Many wanted to add the law of Moses to what Jesus had already done for sinners. Paul writes to correct this error and helps the Galatians, and Christians today, to be grounded in the true gospel of grace. This message is the indtroductory message as we begin preaching through this rich book.

Stephen was a man of great faith who stood for the gospel of Jesus in the face of great opposition. His convictions for the gospel led to his martyrdom. Stephen is an example of sacrifice for Christ. Every Christian is called to sacrifice for our Lord who is risen and reigning as King.

Why do we gather to worship every week- Why is worship of God by the people of God so important- Why do we worship the way we do- Scripture clearly tells us the answers to these questions. Worship is essential for the individual Christian, the local church and the community.

Is there a greater act of humility than Jesus stepping into humanity- Is there a greater act of humiliation than what Jesus endured as a man- There is no humility or humiliation that compares to that of Christ's. His humiliation reveals His grace, love and obedience to the Father.
