Jesus appointed 12 men as apostles and then concentrated His efforts on teaching and training them. As they followed and observed His ministry of power, authority, compassion, and restoration they soon had opportunities to emulate Him.

Jesus invites us to follow Him and learn from Him. It’s a life-long process.

In the early part of His ministry, we see Jesus inviting men to follow Him. It wasn't until later that Jesus gave these followers ministry opportunities. Until then, they followed, obeyed, observed, learned.

This Palm Sunday we follow Jesus on His journey to Jerusalem, and ultimately to the cross. He invited His disciples to follow, warned them of the suffering to come, and ended at the cross betrayed and abandoned.

We are starting a new series in the book of Mark for April and May that will take us through Palm Sunday and Easter.

Mark gives us a shorter, more focused account of the Gospel story than the other gospel writers. In this first message we will explore the purpose of Mark’s writing, look at the major themes, and discover three predictions of Jesus’ coming death.

We’ll also see how Mark answers the questions – Who is Jesus? Why did He come? And What does it mean to follow Him?
