March 20, 2016Character Corner: Wonder Woman
This time Kriss & Dpalm cover Wonder Woman before her debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This is the oldest character we've done (She's been around since 1942) and we talk about how this has lead to some problematic ways she's been depicted. While now seen as a feminist icon, the character's beginnings are full of problematic depictions and just flat out bad writing. But we've found some really good reads that do Wonder Woman justice and really highlight her being "Truth" in the Trinity (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman) of DC Comics. This was a great discussion and I think we pulled out some great comics that really highlight what makes Wonder Woman so great. Issues:

Wonder Woman - Gods & Mortals

Wonder Woman Spirit of Truth

JLA - A League of One

Wonder Woman - The Hiketeia

Batman-Superman-Wonder Woman: Trinity

Wonder Woman Volume 2

Issues 195-200

Issues 206-2013

Wonder Woman Volume 3

Issues 14-17 - Gail Simone run

Flashpoint Paradox

Flashpoint - Emperor Aquaman

Flashpoint - Wonder Woman & The Furies

First 7 Volumes of New 52 Wonder Woman

Issue #3 - Hippolyta reveals Diana is a child of Zues

Issue #7 - The male children of Amazon

Issue #12 - Diana takes off her bracelets to unless her true powers

Issue #23 - Becomes the new God of War

March 13, 2016 Legends of Tomorrow Recap - S1E8 Night of the Hawk
Kriss & Dpalm review Legends of Tomorrow episode 8, Night of the Hawk. This was a really good episode. We were worried that they would get too cute with the the racism of the time period but they don't run from it at all. Everything works really well for this episode, even Kendra.

March 11, 2016 10 Cloverfield Lane Review
Kriss & Phenom review 10 Cloverfield Lane, sequel in name only to JJ Abram's 2008 Cloverfield. It doesn't matter though because this film is amazing. There are great performances, a tight story that you don't know what to believe and twists/turns you won't see coming. Check it out before someone spoils it for you.

March 10, 2016 Agents of Shield Recap - S3E11 Bouncing Back
Dpalm & Kriss are review the season 3 mid-season premiere Agents of Shield, Bouncing Back. Marvel is back with Agents of Shield and they aren't pulling any punches. They give us Yo-Yo Rodriguez and Hive Ward. Also Coulson seems to be on a dark path as the President approves SHIELD has a black ops organization.

March 07, 2016Character Corner: Doctor Victor Von Doom Part 3 - God Doom
Dpalm and Kriss present the final part of their Character Corner series on Doctor Doom. During this final part we focus mainly on Jonathan Hickman's Fantastic Four run that leads into New Avengers/Secret Wars. The heart of this story is a Reed Richards vs Doctor Doom story but there's so much more. We see Doom become a God, twice. We also see more of the relationship between Valeria & Victor. Doom kinda sorta tries to redeem and do good but ultimately is still a dick. We also finish up by talking about the new direction we see for Victor Von Doom in the new Invincible Iron Man run. This is one of our favorite Character Corners and you're going to want to listen.
Issues:
Doomwar #3 - Doom confronts the Panther God and is judged as having "pure" intentions
The Entire Jonathan Hickman run of Fantastic Four (Volume 3 #570-611) & FF(Volume 1 #1-13)
FF #2 - Doom mocks Ben for watching Johnny die
FF #12 & 16 - All Hope Lies with Doom
Fantastic Four #611 - Reed, Valeria, Nathaniel go to save Doom from Doomworld
Fantastic Four Annual 2014 - Sue goes to Latveria to get Valeria
Loki: Agent of Asgard #6 & 7 - Doom and Valeria take on Lokia
Jonathan Hickman's New Avengers & Secret wars
New Avengers #6 - an Incursion happens in Latveria
New Avengers #24 - Namor comes to Doom & Doom rejects him. It's revealed...Doom has a plan
New Avengers #33 - Doom confronts the Beyonders
Secret Wars #8 - Doom vs Thanos
Secret Wars #9 - Doom vs Reed
Invincible Iron Man #1-5 - The new Victor Von Doom...is he a good guy?

*You can find the reading order for Hickman's Fantastic Four run here. We'll be doing a Comic Book Book Club on it soon
