Happy holidays everyone and welcome to the thirty-ninth episode of Much Review About Nothing: our merrily misanthropic Cynical Christmas Special! This time we delved into animated blasphemy and reviewed The Star (2017). Again, we must point out that we haven't seen the movie. That is 100% not a joke. Everything we know about the film comes from the trailer, reviews, articles, and our own biased preconceptions. Listen along as we ponder burning questions like: Is Jesus even featured in this nativity film? Why are the three wise men members of the Taliban? Will Emoji-Ism one day eclipse Christianity as a leading world religion? What do Seven Samurai and Arthur Christmas have in common? Why has Billy sworn off caroling forever? Is all Christmas music terrible? Who bequeathed Rudolph a nationalistic ring of power? But, most importantly, is The Star so offensive that it might end up invoking God’s wrath and bring about the next nuclear war? (Oh well, at least the colors are nice.)
