Most are aware of the power our words contain. We can build others up, or tear others down. But have you ever stoped to examine where those words come from? In James chapter 3, James connects the dots and shows us how our words find their origin in the “well of wisdom” that’s deep within our souls.

James asks a huge question to the early church that each generation after must answer: What use is it, if a person says they have faith, but has no works, can that faith save him? Join us as we discover that while salvation is by faith alone, true faith is never alone.

Favoritism and partiality were starting to show up in the early church, the same way they can show up today. We need constant reminders that to do so, reveals a disconnect between the Faith we claim and the Actions that are being produced.

This week, we talk about distractions that keeps followers of Jesus out of the game and on the sidelines. When faced with situations that move us to anger, we need to be confronted by the word of God, so we can get back in the game and make our faith visible.

In week one of our series in the book of James, we’ll take a look at the topic of Trials and the role they play in the growth of a Jesus follower. Jesus lovingly allows pain points to exist which mature our faith. While this perspective is not an easy one to accept, God’s people can joyfully live for him regardless of the circumstances.

We finished this series by connecting the dots of how God desires to flow through the home into the city. As Jesus followers understand the mission, they begin to leverage their marriages, parenting, and singleness to “love the city” God has sent them to.

Its easy to talk marriage, family, and the home and neglect singles. This season of life is a gift that when stewarded well, will continue living out the mission of the Kingdom. Jesus came so that we might have abundant life and that applies to all relationsihp status’s.

In God’s design, the voice of parents/guardians are meant to shape the next generation. Regardless of the age or personality of children, God’s people can look to his framework to lead the home well.
