In our last week of this series, we will examine the life of a disciple that intentionally positions themselves in the company of Jesus. In scripture, this is the call to “Abide”. In a culture of busyness, there is an urgency to create Margin, Moments, and Mile-Markers along the journey.

Discipleship to Jesus means not just listening to the teachings of Jesus, but also means we live as Jesus lived life. When we follow the daily rhythms of Jesus, we get a glimpse of what it means to live as a human under God’s rule.

The Kingdom has arrived, the King is on the scene, and he offers the opportunity become his disciple. Following the King is what our hearts were designed for and yet it’s a decision that comes with a cost. A yes to Jesus will always mean no to something else.

If the narrative of scripture and the teachings of Jesus revolve around “The Kingdom of God”, than what does it look like to gain access to this Kingdom? In Jesus’ parable of the prodigal son, he articulates the type of person of would respond favorably to the invitation to join as well as the type of person that would stand in opposition to it.

The Kingdom of God/Heaven is the primary message of Jesus throughout his ministry and yet one of the least discussed today. This week, we’ll answer questions like: What is the Kingdom of God, When did this Kingdom talk begin, Why did Jesus come, and How should I respond to the news of it’s arrival?
