Comenzamos repasando los tres discos favoritos de Mundofonías del mes de septiembre del 2020, a cargo de los franceses L'Attirail, los chipriota-británicos Trio Tekke y los mongoles Khusugtun. Continuamos con novedades discográficas y la reedición de un clásico del bugalú, a cargo de Pete Rodríguez. Suenan conexiones malienses, haitiano-belgas, colombiano-japonesas, argentino-neomexicanas, argentino-inglesas, boricuo-neoyorkinas y anglo-caribeñas.

We start by reviewing the three Mundofonías September 2020 favourite albums, by the French combo L'Attirail, the Cypriot-British Trio Tekke and the Mongolian band Khusugtun. We continue with new releases and the reissue of a boogaloo classic, by Pete Rodríguez. We listen to some Malian, Haitian-Belgian, Colombian-Japanese, Argentine-New-Mexican, Argentine-English, Puerto Rican-New Yorker and Anglo-Caribbean connections.

Servimos un variadito menú musical en estas Mundofonías: un artista de raíces indias nacido en Nairobi, orquestas transfronterizas desde Berlín y Aguascalientes, la Colombia psicodélica y urbana junto a la la Colombia rural y enraizada, y un viaje en el expreso Adís Abeba-Bamako.

We bring a varied musical menu in this Mundofonías show: an artist with Indian roots born in Nairobi, cross-border orchestras from Berlin and Aguascalientes, psychedelic and urban Colombia vs. rural and rooted Colombia, and a trip on the Addis Ababa-Bamako express.

Repaso libre a la Transglobal World Music Chart del mes, confeccionada a través de la votación de un panel de divulgadores de las músicas del mundo de todos los continentes, del que los hacedores de Mundofonías somos cocreadores y coimpulsores. Este mes de septiembre del 2020 el número uno lo ocupa la artista iraní Mahsa Vahdat.

A loose review of the Transglobal World Music Chart for this month, determined by a panel of world music specialists from all the continents of which the Mundofonías‘ presenters are co-creators and co-promoters. This month, September 2020, number one is for the Iranian artist Mahsa Vahdat.

Disfrutamos durante casi todo el programa con sonidos y ritmos de inspiración y raíz africana a uno y otro lado del Atlántico, aunque incluyendo una pequeña escala andina. Suena la música de la Bahia brasileña y de Puerto Rico contenida en las Rough Guides y encontramos después conexiones con África y el resto del planeta.

We enjoy most of the program with sounds and rhythms of African inspiration and roots from both sides of the Atlantic, although including a small Andean stopover. We hear music from the Brazilian Bahia and Puerto Rico featured in the Rough Guides and then we find connections with Africa and the rest of the planet.

Sones arábigos, húngaros, mediterráneos, indios, escoceses, tangueros y también klezmer a la Naftule por partida triple: escuchando al gran maestro del clarinete Naftule Brandwein y al grupo que le homenajea en su nombre Naftule's Dream dentro de nuestra sección "Los esenciales de Mundofonías", junto con una versión naftuliana a la guitarra eléctrica de vuestro presentador favorito, Juan Antonio Vázquez. Hablamos también con Edgard Massegú, quien nos destripa el significado de una de sus canciones para el grupo Biflats.

Arabic, Hungarian, Mediterranean, Indian, Scottish and tango tunes and also klezmer à the Naftule thrice: we listen to the great master of the clarinet Naftule Brandwein and the group that honors him in his name Naftule’s Dream within our section "The Mundofonías' Essentials" and also a Naftulian version on the electric guitar by your favorite presenter, Juan Antonio Vazquez. We also speak with Edgard Massegú, who reveals the meaning of one of his songs for the band Biflats.

Knee-deep in tradition and... back to the future

Un programa de continuos contrastes que estira y abolla el espacio-tiempo musical como nunca antes habían observado los astrónomos. Profundas raíces sonoras ibéricas y de la Europa central y oriental, alternando con experimentaciones y nuevos sonidos de inspiración popular que nos llevan de Chequia a Colombia y vuelta a la Inglaterra ochentera. Nos acordamos de la maravillosa cantora y panderetera cántabra Lines Vejo, recientemente fallecida; escuchamos a Janusz Prusinowski dentro de nuestra sección de "Los esenciales de Mundofonías" y hablamos de su nueva iniciativa de vídeos pedagógicos y talleres en línea "En la red de las mazurcas".

A program with many contrasts that stretches and dents musical space-time like astronomers had never before observed. Iberian and also Central and Eastern European deeply-rooted music, alternating with experimental and new sounds of popular inspirations that take us from Czechia to Colombia and back to the eighties England. We remember the wonderful Cantabrian singer and tambourine player Lines Vejo, recently deceased; we also listen to Janusz Prusinowski on our "The Mundofonías' Essentials" section and talk about his new initiative of video tutorials and online workshops "In the Net of Mazurek".
