Councillor Brian White is a two term incumbent from the City of Sarnia, having first been elected in 2014 to City Council, then in 2018 to both City and Lambton County Council. He is currently running for a third term.
Brian also previously ran for the NDP in Sarnia-Lambton, but the reason I’m interviewing a sitting Councillor and not just a candidate is that he also happens to be a professional wrestler on the independent wrestling circuit.
He opens up about the triumphs and challenges of life, being in pro wrestling and serving in the municipal government of Sarnia, a border city of about 72,000.

*Apologies for portions which lagged and last minute location change from my end as I was having connectivity issues. Tammy Hwang, a current City of Hamilton employee, has taken a leave in order to run for Hamilton City Council.
Hwang, born in Canada to Taiwanese immigrants, describes herself as a “city builder, small business owner, startup cheerleader, and community organizer.”

Below are maps of the ward itself and in proportion to the entire city.
Ward 4 (East Hamilton) runs from Ottawa Street North in the west to the Red Hill Valley Parkway in the east, down to King’s Forest in the south and the industrial waterfront in the north.
