In April of 2011, unsuspecting workers near the Conowingo Dam saw something floating in the Susquehanna River. Tattoo identification and dental record information sadly confirmed the body was that of Phylicia Simone Barnes.
Four months prior, the 16 year old North Carolina honor student was determined missing from her sister's home in Baltimore, Maryland. But authorities quickly realized they were dealing with anything other than a runaway. The alcohol fueled gatherings and late nights that Phylicia had recently participated in, greatly varied from her typical life at home with her mother.
Who murdered Phylicia Barnes? Is this a case of a school girl crush causing the naive teen to get in over her head in the name of gaining independence? Or, did a grown man let lust turn to obsession and do the unthinkable? This case seems to never end, and after THREE trials, no one has been convicted of her murder.
