"For freedom, Christ has set us free. . ." From thetime we are born, human beings have a basic need offreedom. We spend years working and grasping atfreedom only to feel trapped by the responsibilitiesof life. Christ calls us to a new kind of freedom. Afreedom that goes beyond ourselves connecting todaywith eternity and the mundane to the meaningful.

One path leads to captivity; the other leads to freedom. One path vanishes with time; the other endures forever. One path worries; the other path believes. One path mocks faith and relies on self; the other path humbly trusts and relies on God. Join us this Sunday as we continue our series on Galatians with an “A Tale of Two Paths” from Galatians 4:21-31.

At the foundation of Christianity is salvation by grace through faith. Christianity in any other form is a fraud. Yet people are always trying to take grace and faith out of Christianity. In Galatians 3:1-9, Paul essentially tells the young Christians of Galatia to "Snap Out of It," because they had been lured into believing in something that looked like the gospel, but was not the real deal.  Christ has rescued us from the world by giving Himself for our sins according to the will of God. Those who repent of sin and believe in Christ, receive the grace and peace of God and live for His glory forever and ever. This is the heart of the true gospel that Paul describes in Galatians 1:3-5:

"Grace to you and peace from God the father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins to rescue us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father. To whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen"

 Join us this week at 8:30 or 11:00 as we begin a Summer journey through the book of Galatians. Galatians was written by the Apostle Paul around 50 AD to a group of young churches in the political territory called Galatia. God had saved many in Galatia, and they had found freedom from their sins and a new life in Christ. But then a legalistic group called the Judaizers attempted to convince these young believers that to truly be a Christian, faith in Jesus was not enough. This week we will study Galatians 1:1-5 as we discover how believers have been "Rescued" in Christ.
