Musicians/Non-musicians have many things to say about Autotune and Melodyne. In my experience a decent chunk of these people don’t fully understand what these tools can and cant do. Can they make a bad singer good? No.Can they fix minor tuning issues of both good and bad singers? Yes.Do even the most legendary vocal performances have slight tuning “issues”? Yes, but that’s not a bad thing. Does it save you having to do a million takes of a song to get a vocal that is competitive (pro sounding)? Yes.Can you do drastic changes to a singers pitch ? Not if you want it to sound natural or transparent.Is it always the right choice? Absolutely not.

Al and Mike talk about this new term “Burnout Syndrome.” Exhaustion, Negative career thoughts and Reduced effectiveness in said career are all symptoms of the burnout. According the World Health organization this is all due to mismanaging workplace stress, which all of us musicians are guilty of. Ever want to rage quit music? Sounds like burnout to me.
