Our hearts go out to everyone suffering through the earthquakes.

01  Pink Floyd - The Great Gig In The Sky (Paul (AR) Remix)

2023 arrives for Eartheater in a mix with global soul and an organic ear to the ground.  "Scotts New Year's set is sounding smooth like butter pecan with extra brown sugar on top." - David Martin about a live mix Scott recently published.  But that only scratches the surface of this new multi-ethnic, multi-level, and pan-emotional vibe knit together in one mix.  Scott has paired beats and atmospheres to vocals so that the haunting haunts and the loving loves in the air around you.  Not enough to call it a journey, his podcast this week conveys emotions over time in a most captivating and cohesive way.  Lift yourself up.

Fresh from Italy, Dante comes in this week with a disco style which makes the continent sing.  Europe and the UK really perfected this sound in the decades that followed disco in the US.  Hip basslines and well-placed vocal snippets bring a lightness of heart and mood.  The set makes great use of real instruments sounds while keeping the energy upfront.  There is a nice, expansive lull half way through then energy returns briefly until the DJ walks us gracefully to some funky house at the close.

We like all kinds of music for our podcasts.  And we like that music endlessly and without seams.  That specific effort provides a baseline for atmosphere and conveyance of emotion.  Scott Riley comes full circle and provides a moving and driving recapitulation of all things dance floor in our current podcast this week.  He has been on a personal quest to tie up his personal devotion to the timeless hold of progressive music and the newest school of organic house music.  Thoughtful, well-placed energy that puts Cercle sets on notice.

We get back into a deep vibe with the latest in out Subset routine.  Dante dreams a little dream with his most ethereal downtempo set to date.  Within these walls the DJ has built are serene lofts, and an expansive, lounge view.  The pads are long and emotional with a peculiar and consistent draw that weaves your mind back and forth into the mix.  It is a great vibe and one that will keep you from getting things done.  This set also sees highlights of producers who have come into their own.  Stefano, Gino, and Daniel are front and center pushing confidently into our minds and hearts.

Track List:

01  Stefano - Slowly

Mark brings a show-reel style mix this week with fresh new releases in many genres.  Positively funky blends at 12 minutes then blends again into ethereal electro and a healthy dose of acid along the way.  It’s always amazing to hear producers working with elements of old an new to create space for your dance ambitions.  But Mark pulls back from the overproduction found in much electronic music today and exposes pure dance expressions around the one-hour mark.  All-in, it is a great way to spend some time.

01  Sound Virus - Wavey (Intro mix)

Scorcher of a set this week as Scott moves focus back to progressive with a dose of breaks, in style.  And honestly, I can't imagine that he left much to pick through at Beatport.  Track after track the progression builds and lays out open, harbors full of energy and life.  The waves are just that good.  The thing sets off with ambitious emotion in a relentless pull across a huge variety of heart strings.

01  Husa & Zeyada - Long Way Home
