Musical Shenanigans

Here we are for another doubleheader of throwing random albums into the ring together with a fight to the death.  Be aware that we sometimes discuss other albums not on our respective dockets, or that are on any reputable music album list known to man.

Thank you all again for your continued patronage and support!

Hello once again, one and all!

Welcome back to the three ring circus that is our little show.

First of all, we are now accessible over the interwebs - we have email and we have a Twitter account @M_Shenanigan.

We really want your feedback, no matter how bad it is!!

Secondly, this show is a little different from all other shows in that in post production we allowed more to remain in the show than get dropped to the cutting room floor.   One of us (Cory) read this book about Podcasting, and learned some tips and tricks about editing - or rather, what not to edit.  He says that all mistakes are his own and not to hold the McElroy family responsible and he recommends their Dungeons and Dragons Podcast called The Adventure Zone - but please do not give up this show for that one.

Ergo, this show is a little longer, but again, back to the first point, let us what you really think.

Last, you are all amazing, and we thank every last one of you for your time.  I know the value of personal time and we appreciate every moment we are nuzzled in your ears with our nonsense.

Please be safe, wear a mask, and do the right thing.

Peace, Love, and Coffee,

Scott, Dave, Cory, and Yer Mom

Albums in this show:

Greetings one and all!

Acting as public defenders for albums we may or may not like, we are going head to head, toe to toe, and mic to mic once again.  Of course, stick around as the Thunderdome walls come down in Round Two and it becomes more of a football match melee than a dignified one on one battle to the death.

We thank you all again for your continued support and for coming back.

Peace, Love, Coffee, and poorly timed visual jokes on a podcast,

Cory, Scott, Dave and Yer Mom

Albums this week:

Eric B. and Rakim - Paid in Full
Talking Heads - More Songs about Buildings and Food
The Byrds - Mr. Tambourine Man

Greeting folks, and welcome to another heartfelt episode.

We have decided to mix up the format and give you a little more color and glamour for your money - as yes, we do like to think of ourselves as a kitschy sideshow act.

Think of this new format as if it were Thunderdome - with a wee bit less of a post-apocalyptic theme - but we're all dressed as Tina Turner, as we all fought for it, and being that July is the month of kindness (as far as you know), we all decided to dress the same.  It worked for The Beatles.  It worked for Devo.  It worked for ABBA.  I rest my case.

There are four albums discussed in our Thunderdome this episode.  So, sit back and take off your shoes as we attempt to rock your socks off... or maybe just give your toes a little tickle.

Peace, Love, Coffee, and Pecan Pie,

Scott, Dave, Cory, and (as always) yer mom!

The Clash - The Clash
Frank Ocean - Blond
The Band - Music from Big Pink
The Who - Who's Next

You have waited long enough, and the payoff, I assure you, will be quite whelming.

We have scaled down the number of albums, for your listening pleasure, but mostly for our own.  Tackling around 25 albums for a show was a modern day Herculean Task, that not even Hercules would agree to do - cheeky bastard!!

We are proud to announce our new sponsor this week - Buzz Fizz.

Tune in and enjoy another enlightening episode of your favorite podcast, then come back and listen to ours.

Pease, Love, Coffee, and Buzz Fizz,

Scott, Dave, Cory, and Yer Mom

Featured Albums:

Destiny's Child - The Writing's On The Wall

Beyonce - Beyonce

Black Sabbath - Paranoid

Bo Diddley - Go Bo Diddley

The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds

Today we wrap up the artists with five or more albums in the Rolling Stone Top 500.  The lesson learned is that most artists are great, but we can only take any one of them in small doses.  As my grandfather at 96 years young tells me: everything in moderation.

This week we are covering the following artists:

• The Rolling Stones
• Bruce Springsteen
• Bob Dylan

We have a new sponsor with The Bearwood Spa and Resort.

Note: the theme song (30 Seconds Ago) was originally written by Art Nelson, and thoroughly tinkered with and rearranged by the band October.

We are back again to discuss the artists that have 5 or more albums in the Rolling Stone Top 500, and we still have not found that muzzle for Scott.  However, I can assure you, it is nothing compared to the likes of what Yeezy says.

But, please be aware (beware!) this is music commentary unfiltered like a pack of Camel, or American Spirit.

This week we are covering the following acts that met the 5+ album criteria:

• The Beatles
• Neil Young
• David Bowie
• Kanye West

We did not discuss their respective albums in any depth, but the list and their rankings are listed below and linked for your viewing and listening pleasure (click at your own risk).

Musical Shenanigans was filmed in front of a live studio audience of lab animals and sponsored by the one and only Shaman Larry from the Shaman Supercenter.  It has also been recommended that this show goes nicely with a nice Merlot or a well aged Malt Liquor.

If we have learned anything, it is that sometimes a muzzle should be applied to Scott, but then we would miss out on so much color.  He's obviously not a Frank fan, but we cannot all be blessed with sophistication.

For anyone that wants to play along, please let me know!

The albums this week are as follows:

Frank Sinatra - In the Wee Small Hours
Boogie Down Productions - Criminal Minded
John Mayer - Continuum
AC/DC - Back in Black
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours

Scott and I discuss three albums chosen at random from the Top 500.

#452 Diana Ross and the Supremes - Anthology
#112 Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
#55 Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon

We have our own quirks and comments about the albums, and discussions that do not relate.

Some questionable language is likely.
