Have you ever done anything in the Mustang enthusiast community that turned out to be a transformational experience? You might be surprised to know that through the stories that many of you have shared with us, it happens more often than you might think. That’s why when Gale Halderman’s daughter, Karen, showed us a thank-you note she received from Sharon Hansen after a visit to the Halderman Mustang Museum with her husband and her son, we knew you’d want to know about it.

John and Mike had enjoyed a wonderful friendship with the late Mustang designer and have been frequent visitors to the Halderman Barn Museum, managed by Karen and her own daughter, Lauren. There’s no doubt the place has special vibe all its own, and the note from Sharon to Karen explains it in a way that helps bring Mustang’s history to life, both through Gale’s “Mustang By Design” book that she bought that day – and though the kindness that Karen offered the touring family on the day they stopped by.

This episode shares the thank-you note and explains how the museum tour provided Sharon an epiphany of sorts about the Mustang, its design history and Mustang people like the Haldermans who power Mustang fandom and can make impactful connections with people. The Mustang Owner’s Podcast took its Meet & Greet tent on the road again this year – this time to the annual Mustang Memories & All-Ford Show hosted by the Mustang Owners Club of SouthEastern Michigan (MOCSEM). Normally held behind Ford’s former HQ known as the “Glass House,” the Memories show was moved to the nearby AAA Headquarters after Ford had moved into its new World Headquarters on its Dearborn design and engineering campus, and slated the Glass House for demolition.Beyond the venue, the date for Memories 2026 was also moved to the Sunday before Detroit’s famed Woodward Dream Cruise instead of the Sunday after. Regardless of the changes, Mustang Memories drew several hundred cars and even more attendees to share a Sunday of sunshine, Mustangs and classic Ford camaraderie.

John had to work Ford’s Meet & Greet tent for Team Mustang, while Mike set up the Mustang Owner’s Podcast tent right alongside to meet with fans, do live recordings of their Mustang stories and even welcome some Mustang celebrities – including Kevin Marti of “Marti Report” fame, SN95 Chief Designer Bud Magaldi, plus Mustang II Designer Buck Mook and SN95 Interior Designer Emeline King, just to name a few.We’ll take a closer look at the cars on display at MOCSEM’s Mustang Memories 2026 in an upcoming episode, but this time around we wanted to give you an idea of the Mustang vibes at this nationally known event, and see what is was like to hang out with the podcast team for a day of Mustang show fun in Ford’s own back yard.

After a recent post by Ford Motor Company that one of the World’s Fair Mustangs was being inducted into the prestigious National Historic Vehicle Register, our resident pony car expert – famed Mustang journalist / author Jim Smart – reached out to say there was a notable omission in the story. And that was that very little would be known about these rare cars without the detective work done by one very dedicated owner. One of the most difficult decisions any Mustang owner will ever make is deciding if and when it’s the right time to sell one of their beloved pony cars. In this episode, John and Mike visit one of their favorite annual Mustang club shows, the Great Lakes Stampede All-Ford & Mustang Car Show, hosted by the Mustang Club of Mid Michigan (MCMM). This event marked the public debut of the Mustang Owner’s Podcast 10x10 Meet & Greet tent display, where the boys featured not one, but TWO celebrity guests – Bud Magaldi, chief designer and styling design manager of the Fourth Generation (SN95) 1994 Mustang, and Emeline King, the interior designer of that same Fourth Generation (SN95) 1994 Mustang. Bud and Emeline chatted with attendees and signed autographs while Emeline also offered a book-signing for her inspirational softcover autobiography, “What Do You Mean A Black Girl Can't Design Cars? Emeline King, She Did It! (still available on Amazon).

This year the MCMM moved its show venue to the Birch Run Speedway after several years at the nearby Outlet Mall. Clouds, wind and eventual rain may have affected the turnout a bit, but John and Mike were amazed by how many different variants of Shelby Mustangs braved the elements for the Stampede, as well as how many early gens were there, along with a multitude of special colors in attendance – especially green! The great photography you see here came from Ford retiree and super-enthusiast Bill Cook.

We asked, you responded, and we listened. So here it is – an ALL-NEW format for our Mustang Owner’s Podcast that incorporates several different aspects of the Mustang hobby all in a single, fast-paced episode that we call the “Mustang Roundup.” Why did we try this? Because we’d received so many emails about how we can keep growing the Mustang Owner’s Podcast that we thought it’s time to test out some format enhancements.

Here’s another fun Mustang Owner’s Podcast episode from the Halderman Mustang Museum in Tipp City, Ohio, just north of Dayton off I-75. This time John and Mike take you on a tour of the show field from the “Gathering At The Barn” all-Ford car show, an annual museum fundraiser event hosted by the Mustang Club of Ohio, and sponsored by Dave Arbogast Ford of nearby Troy, Ohio. Yes, this show had showcased the custom "Mach-X" award-winning show car – a vintage-looking 1969 Mustang Mach 1-inspired modern classic built off a 2012 Mustang GT California Special chassis by Zero-Given Garage. That’s why the boys featured the Mach-X in its own episode of the Podcast, including an exclusive test drive and in-person interview with Aaron Duncan of Duncan Brothers Customs fame, now the creative master behind Zero Given Garage. The Mustang Owner’s Podcast had the honor of kicking off Show Day Saturday at this year’s Carlisle Ford Nationals, recording a special podcast episode in front of the Fairgrounds Stage right after the 9 a.m. playing of the National Anthem. There were also displays commemorating the legacies of Roush, the Ford Taurus, and the Olympic Sprint special editions as well as all the other regular attractions such as the Vehicle Parades, Select Displays, Car Corral, Manufacturers Midway, the massive Flea Market and Vendors area, great food, the Women’s Oasis and even Kids Activities. And don’t forget the Club Challenge, the Coolest Club Hangout Award and the Club Mixer info-session hosted by Team Mustang’s John Clor with help from podcast partner Mike Rey – plus the Autocross, Burnout & Exhaust contests, Celebrity Choice Awards, the annual Downtown Carlisle Parade, Park & Party and of course Sunday’s big Carlisle Awards Presentations. Clearly, if there’s only one big Ford show you need to attend each year, the Carlisle Ford Nationals is it. John and Mike NEVER miss this show – and neither should you!
