*Toni started this organization because she became a self publisher and wanted to create a safe space that allowed positive and fun black children's books
* Slogan~ " Every child deserves to see themselves represented in the books they read."
* she is positively representing diverse races to help build self- confidence in the readers
Children with low self-confidence may experience:
* struggle with the way they view themselves
* the way they receive education may be changed
* Black children's books are definitely for white children and any other race. It eliminated superiority and evens the playing fields of life.
* When the message that black and brown children are less than, other races believe the lie too which continues to feed and fuel racism.
* Books that uplift motivate and inspire are for ALL children.
* You don't have to feel accomplished because someone has accepted you or invited you to the table
* We have to celebrate and love ourselves first
* it's not about BEING accepted it's about ACCEPTING ourselves and who we are as we are first
* I mainly focus on Authors who are getting out of the same old narrative of overcoming struggles and slavery
* We have to restore the community and help ourselves. Waiting will set you back and create a gap
* The media is the most powerful influencer and programmer
* we have reached a point where we can take the pen and write our own stories
* It's bigger then me. I'm changing the narrative one book at a time which will impact the world for man generations to come."
* Self-love is not a destination. It's a journey."
* Accept who I am and where I am in the moment.
