Tip #1 - The mind is an awesome thing
In our day-to-day life, we are busy consciously thinking of the next thing we must do, how to do the thing that we’re doing, and a thousand other random thoughts every hour, some of which seem to have no apparent reason for popping into our head. Our mind has been created to ensure our survival by constantly monitoring our outer (and inner) environment and determining whether something is a threat and if we need to either make a quick escape or stand and fight. It also perceives how to successfully perform tasks, use tools, and so on by something called “mirror neurons.” For instance, we now know that just by watching, say, a batter swing and hit a baseball, neurons in our brain fire off as if we had done this ourselves. Is it any wonder, then, that sports fans get so excited when they see great athletes performing, or that they jump up and down and shout, “We won!” even though they did nothing but sit on a couch and watch the game?
It’s important here to understand that our expectations provide the channel through which the power of our mind flows.
In a real sense, in life, we get what we expect to get. If we are habitually prone to think of ourselves as lacking in the ability to improve our lives, that’s what we get. If we can break out of these mental habits and have a different experience, to begin to see the potential for different outcomes, we can dramatically change our life.

Support the show (https://www.mybesthealer.com/)I grew up the son of a family doctor, so taking care of others' health has always been an inherent part of my life. I graduated at the top of my medical school class and spent the first 14 years being a doctor in a community health center. From there I learned and practiced compassion and cost-effective medicine.
After 16 years of family practice, I wanted to find a more effective way of helping my patients. Because of my thirst for knowledge and hunger for how food could heal (food is medicine in functional medicine), I studied functional medicine.
Unfortunately after gaining that new expertise, I developed food poisoning, giving me multiple food problems including fermented food allergy and several food intolerances (gluten, dairy, egg). I could not eat food with soy sauce without having a coughing fit!
Fortunately, in the last 10 years through integrative medicine, I have studied different fields of medicine including genetics, biochemistry, physiology, nutrient supplementation for mental health, acupuncture, homeopathy, and energy medicine to help others and myself. Patients who have been sick for decades with different kinds of illnesses are regaining their health. As for me, most of my food issues are gone at this time as a result of treatments I have developed.

It is the month of inspirational women and here is an inspiring story of Beverly Grant
Mo’ Betta Green Marketplace was launched on June 18, 2011, in the Historic Five Points Neighborhood. This market is founded on three principles:
food literacy, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility. The mission of this farmers market focuses on broadening food access; providing food and nutrition literacy; supporting local business and neighborhood economy; showcasing neighborhood arts, history, and culture; shaping food policy; defining new food infrastructure and new agribusiness opportunities; and directly impacting the top four health disparities (cancer, diabetes, obesity, and heart disease) through innovation, education, interaction, and demonstration. The mission of this market also includes designing and installing edible, medicinal landscapes, and yard farming in the northeast portion of Denver’s Food Desert neighborhoods. HEAL (Health, Eating, Active Living) would sum up all of the market’s activities.
In October 2015, Seeds of Power Unity Farm (SOPUF) was established to provide a community learning platform for urban agriculture and design; and a small production site for heirloom vegetables sourced directly to Mo’ Betta Green. Education, Preservation, and Food Self-Reliance are the founding principles for SOPUF.
Some important outcomes of this market’s model have improved community connectedness; greater awareness of the correlation between food consumption practices and personal health index; new culinary and lifestyle skills; and overall health/wellness resource connection; and better inclusion of disconnected populations to local food, health, wellness, and environmental education.

Description of Qigong
Qigong is defined as the skill of physical and mental training which integrates the functions of the body, breathing, and the mind. The concept of wholeness is at the heart of qigong - all parts of your body moving in harmony and balance with each other. Wholeness also means your body moving in harmony with nature. The benefits of qigong are many and varied. Through wholeness and balance, you will be able to sleep deeply, wake up refreshed, forget your doctor’s name (because you never see them), and look and feel young.
