On a summer day, Simpleton takes his dogs for a quick trip to the village to restock some supplies and is pleasantly surprised by an encounter with the new clerk at the country store, Stonely. 

“You can call me Stone”

He allows her embrace and is excited at the possibility of a new friend.

The boy Simpleton, is abandoned at a cottage in a midnight woods. Dogs are alarmed at the event and wake an elderly woman who comes from the cottage to see what the disturbance is. She is pleasantly surprised at the findings.
