He (Jesus) said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” It seems like a simple enough vision, but no one to our knowledge asked Him how He would accomplish that. Apparently, they just took the first step and asked questions later. In the end, He instructed them to make disciples of all nations, an instruction we take to be ours as well. The Word of God speaks really clearly about how to treat your body, the Temple of the Holy Spirit. Believers must decide for themselves how that applies. Our mandate is to make disciples of nations and mature laborers for the greatest harvest of souls in history.

What made the early church healthy and vibrant? Our mandate is to make disciples of nations. We must not only reach the lost with the Gospel, adding new believers. To make disciples, we must help believers move from being carnal to being spiritual, and raise the whole church from immaturity to maturity.

Today’s message is on one facet of church health, discernment. Our mandate is to make disciples of nations. We must have a strong sense of discernment of our culture and the times we live in if we are to make any kind of lasting impact.

“Why not sugar???” when the Bible says that God is LOVE, and one of the ways that love is often times demonstrated is with a gift containing large amounts of sugar! And salt and sugar look very similar in appearance. Could Jesus have been mistaken to want us to be SALT? We will examine information about salt, along with some of its characteristics or qualities in the light of Scripture.
