During the worship, God's Spirit directed his thoughts to Psalm 51, and from there, our lesson emerged. After a quarter of a Century of preaching without notes, our pastor is grateful to let God lead. A lyric from our worship resonated with Brother Singh: "If this vessel you cannot use—give me a new start."

David wrote, "Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me." (Psalm 51:1-3) David often stumbled in his walk before the Lord, but his heart was tender and penitent. 

Continuing to preach the necessity of being quickened by the Holy Spirit, Brother Singh stresses God sent the prophets of Israel to deal with the rebellion and iniquity of His people. Sadly, God's people were inclined to "play religion." They observed all the feast days and ceremonial laws but substituted 'man-made traditions' for the standards of God. That deliberate deviation is called iniquity! It was a problem in the Body of Moses and also a problem in the Body of Christ. All the New Testament Churches, except for Ephesus, apostatized while the apostles were still alive. Today, Christianity is rife with iniquity—but we call it denominationalism. 

Scripture speaks of two resurrections. And without a spiritual quickening will be impossible to be resurrected from the grave! We need to receive the genuine Holy Spirit to embrace the fullness of Christian life. The logical question is, can there be a counterfeit experience replicating the Holy Spirit? YES! Remember that we are engaged in spiritual warfare. The devil is the master of deception. With his vast experience in ministry, Brother Singh has encountered demonic possession masquerading as the Spirit of God, as you will discover in the audio portion of this message.

It is the spiritual resurrection that the Apostle Paul addresses in Ephesians 2:1: "And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins."

The Apostle Paul wrote that God would render to every person according to their deeds: "To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath" (Romans 2:6-8). Paul was eager that saints "be established in the faith."

Those whose goals are glorification in the resurrection, honor from God, immortality, and eternal life must be patient in well-doing. Our walk must be continuous, not "on again—off again" in a vacillating manner. Patient continuance in well-doing is not easy. Hence, we are reminded to "lay aside every weight and the sin which doth so easily beset us, to run with patience the race that is set before us" (Hebrews 12:1).

The Apostle Paul had one goal in focus as he neared the end of his life. "If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead" (Philippians 3:11). He did not presume to have already qualified or been perfected, but he pursued the goal and pressed on to make it because Christ Jesus has made him his own. (v. 12)  Continuing to teach "Spiritual Goals," Brother Singh finds the term "any means" somewhat discomforting. God's demands on the lives of His elect are not what most modern Christians seem prepared to accept.

Without spiritual goals, it is impossible to serve the Lord effectively. Moses is the best biblical example of a man whose goal was clearly in focus. He "chose to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season." He rejected his lineage and privilege in the pharaoh's court because he "esteemed the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward." (Hebrews 11:25-26). In plain English: "He thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to his great reward." (NLT)

In this poignant lesson, Brother Singh ties recent lifestyle lessons to the culmination of end-time events. Two opposing realities dominate the lives of God's elect: the mystery of the kingdom of heaven and the mystery of Babylon. Jesus said, "it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them {the non-elect} it is not given" (Matthew 13:11). Brother Singh's last post emphasized "Preparing for a Time of Trouble!" Watch any newscast; within seconds, anyone can sense the world is in grave difficulty. 

Brother John Mowat stresses that we serve an Almighty God. Although billions neither know Him nor honor Him, it does not change the reality of His existence nor that He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love. We must love and serve our heavenly Father in obedience and be separate from the world's contamination. Judgment of the world has begun, and we expect to receive deliverance; let us live a lifestyle pleasing to Jesus. He gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father.
