There is a reason many of us remain immature in our Christian life. Jesus said, "You did not choose me, but I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give you." (John 15:16) The fruit that we are to produce is the fruit of the Spirit: "love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23) God calls us to be transformed from the works of the flesh (vs. 19-21) to exhibit the nature of Jesus! Fruit takes time and careful nurturing to grow.
