Season 3 Episode 7:

In a small coastal town in North Carolina in 1988, tragedy struck. The scene was described as three out of four walls spattered with copious amounts of blood. Blood covering the floor. Bonnie Bon Stein lying on the carpet, the phone dangling off the hook. She was alive, but barely. Keith Von Stein was face down on the bed and it was immediately apparent that his life had ended. The crater to the back of his skull massive, the slash wounds numerous.

Two hours away at NC State, Bonnie's son was busy playing cards with friends. But when he got the horrific call, he was hiding a secret.

This case generated buzz about the popular game Dungeons and Dragons. Is this fantasy game what spurred three young adults to commit an act so heinous? Or was it the frequent use of synthetic psychedelic's?

Angela, Bonnie's teenage daughter, lie sleeping just one bedroom away. Untouched. But her water cup on the nightstand was still chilled, unmelted ice floating. For reference, one piece of ice melts in cold water in approximately 15 min.

But Angela had gone to bed 4 hours prior.
