Myopia Movies

I know, I know, you are thinking about how bad this movie is or, rather, how much you disliked it. So, thank you for even looking. It is riddled with shaky-cam, it feels rushed, and it is not crazy or campy (so bad it is good). Yet, it is brutal and at time very real. We see the death of Bond’s humanity, quite possibly. So, we watched it, why? Because it is a Bond film, of course! We watched Daniel Craig as James Bond in Quantum of Solace!

This week we say goodbye to Pierce with one of the worst concieved Bond movies of all time, Die Another Day. From every cinematic misstep, including the American team of Halle Berry and Michael Madsen, to the “English Team” featuring Madonna’s fake accent and Pierce’s creeping Irishness, no wonder the franchise died for awhile. We watched Pierce Brosnan as James Bond in Die Another Day!

The only thing I need to say about this movie in order to see whether or not you remember it is “Christmas Jones.” This train wreck involves the death of Hagrid, M being kidnapped, and some serious Pierce Brosnan jaw acting. We watched Pierce Brosnan as James Bond in The World is Not Enough!

Well, well, well. Fake news? Business taking over politics? Robotic cars? Bond in a BMW?!?!?! So fanciful! After the amazing Goldeneye, did Tomorrow Never Dies hold up? How did Pierce hold up? Will I answer any of these questions? Tune in to find out!  We watched Pierce Brosnan as James Bond in Tomorrow Never Dies!

Out with the oldish, in with the Irish! We watched Goldeneye for this Mission Briefing. I know what your are thinking, didn’t they already nostalgia all over this? Well, you are keen and thanks for listening! We did it again with the Mission Gaze! Pierce Brosnan replaced Tim Dalton! Nintendo 64 is mentioned, duh!  Tune in to find out!  We watched Pierce Brosnan as James Bond in Goldeneye!

So this film is, well, I guess, goodbye once again to another Bond. This we just got to know you! We end up with this film which starts with a wedding and ends with Felix Leiter being bitten in half. So, I guess paves the way for Joe Don Baker and Jimmy Bond, which is weird. We watched Timothy Dalton as James Bond in Licence to Kill!

This week we introduce the new James Bond. He is rugged, he doesn’t make quips, and it is a darker grittier movie. I know what you’re thinking, are we talking about Daniel Craig? No, that’s crazy! They wouldn’t try to reboot the series is darker and grittier with a rugged James Bond doesn’t make quips more than once or possibly twice! Sigh, nope, nothing is ever new with this series. It is okay, well, whatever. We watched Timothy Dalton as James Bond in the Living Daylights!

We say goodbye to Roger Moore with a fitting send off, sort of, well the send off that he deserves; too campy to live, but too campy to die. We watched Roger Moore as James Bond in A View to a Kill!

This week Sean Connery returns as James Bond to avenge Kevin McClory, spite the Broccolis, and remake one of the most boring Bond films in the Battle of the guys too old to pick up women so young! It competed against Octopussy (Roger Moore, 1983) so we watched Never Say Never Again!
