The roots of modern mysticism in China reach far into its complex and obscure history. The shamanic Wonder Workers or Fang Shi as they are called, utilised the laws and techniques of magic and alchemy to possess and obtain secret knowledge. Much of that knowledge has been suppressed in modern times, however there are small sects that continues to pass it down to select initiates. We discuss the experiences of a westerner who after being shot with a "download beam" from a Taoist altar was thrust into the hidden world of oriental shamanism and occultism.
