Mysterious Universe

Hidden deep within our minds is the mysterious unconscious and from its deep well springs most of who you are. Your likes, dislikes, and indeed most of your personality all emanate from its imponderable depths. However recent advances in scientific research are helping us to better understand the unconscious and its influence upon us. We take a look at the neuroscience from a new angle and consider how magic is essential to your mind. We also hear the story of a German woman who meets and interacts with the elemental spirits of her home.

Then in our Plus+ extension we dive into encounters with auric fish entities, haunted object battles and crystal shop espionage.

A civilization of immortals, advanced enough to be able to travel through interdimensional gateways all over the Earth would most likely stop at nothing to keep their secrets hidden. Periodically however, new members need to be brought into the fold to maintain their numbers; these new members are said to be called "The Initiates”. On this episode we discuss the unusual theories of a French scientist who suggests there is a secret group of immortals walking among us who have the ability to chart the course of humanity.

Then for our Plus+ members we visit the story of the controversial Betz sphere and consider its influence on UFO sightings, paranormal phenomena and an abandoned mansion.

Gareth Patterson spent almost two decades in South Africa in search of the secretive Knysna elephants; however he discovered something far more mysterious when he stumbled upon local tales of lost relic hominids. In a deep dive into the depths of fringe science, Gareth reveals his interactions with what the indigenous forest people know as the Otang.

Then in our Plus+ extension we discuss the unusual concept of ecstatic trance postures. We consider the research of a Felicitas Goodman who discovered how unique postures when combined with trance mediations grant access to powerful experiences and extra-dimensional realms.

Upon moving into a small, rundown apartment in Greenwich Village, New York, an aspiring actress suddenly finds herself adrift in a psychic sea of ghostly phenomena and occult influence. Seeking a lifeline she indulges in heavy esoteric research that seems to only embolden the entities in her apartment causing the encounters to become darker and more macabre. Engaging the services of renowned ghost researcher Hans Holzer she gradually begins to understand the depth of the situation and realises a deadly curse is intent on wreaking havoc in her reality.

Then later in the show we consider the under reported aspects of scents and odours in paranormal experiences before heading into our Plus+ extension were we continue the thread on claims that our society is influenced by secret occult societies and hidden brotherhoods.

We look at the work of Rudolph Steiner who made very specific claims about these hidden groups, their nefarious machinations, and the spiritual technologies they weild against an unsuspecting world.

With no knowledge of the concepts of chi, energy medicine or the nature of reality behind the veil, one woman engages in a roller coaster ride of psychic experience that turns her world upside down. The death of her grandmother sparks a series of events that are as shocking as they are confusing; from training with Indian spirits to battling infections of negative energy. We discuss her experiences and learn there is a more wholesome side to encounters with spirit beings.

Then in our Plus+ extension we switch it up and tackle the science of groundhog realities, UberDaemons and time freezing.

We kick off this episode by discussing the story of a young farmer who in the 1960s started to encounter odd balls of light surrounding his home. Frustrated and confused with the phenomena he decided to run one down in his car. Unfortunately for him, his rash actions resulted in a dramatic increase in the interactions with the unknown, culminating in him meeting human looking ETs and spending time in a hidden underground base in the Himalayan mountains. We also get an update on one of Australia’s most unusual cold cases; the death of the Somerton man.

Then for our Plus+ members we continue the theme of unusual reports from Australia and look into the story of a lost tribe who were said to be the descendants of a long ago shipwreck.

The mind in a vast and unforgiving space, congealed from a collection of senses, experiences and thoughts; can we ever truly understand the nature of the reality around us? For most of us such a concept doesn’t usually interrupt our daily lives, but what about those who recall things that don’t fit in any reality? One such man who consciously recalled strange interactions with mantis like beings, UFOs and other otherworldly phenomena decided to embark on a series of hypnotic regressions to understand what happened to him. However the results were more confusing than he could have imagined and this oddly led him to a destiny seemingly created by the entities themselves.

In our Plus+ extension we travel into the realms of the hidden dimensions and hear stories of psychic clay, filth plasma, mind bazookas and intention entities.

To many the concept of a migraine is that it is simply a severe headache; however to those who experience them, the condition is far more varied, complex and even supernatural. Sufferers have reported the presence of beings, getting blasted by beams of light and even swapping their consciousness with a doppelgänger. Drawing on a wealth of both clinical and anecdotal cases we discuss the high strangeness surrounding this perplexing neurological enigma and consider the possibility that rather than an illness, migraines and their associated conditions may be an internal doorway to a hidden reality contained within the mind.

In our Plus+ extension we take a look at the stunning story of a man eating tiger on the loose in India and how one man who was vilified for slaying the deadly beast is now telling his story to clear his name.

One of the most popular and unusual stories of alien interaction we’ve ever covered on the show is the story of Terry Lovelace and his 1977 encounter at Devil's Den. After his book was released in 2018, Terry was inundated with similar experience reports from all around the world, including some from Mysterious Universe listeners. We discuss some of these experiences and hear of his lifelong interactions with them, including his ill conceived plan to shoot dead the ETs with his father’s handgun.

Then for our Plus+ members we take a look at some of the weirder elements of the Clay Wheeler story. Did he really interact with a paranormal intelligence or could something more sinister, yet very human, be responsible for his demise? UFOs, energy beams, alien shootouts and more all cumulate in a story that is as unsettling as it is complex.

The hidden physiological mechanisms of the human mind have the potential to be more mystifying than any paranormal phenomenon. For this episode we consider the work of a therapist who utilised the unorthodox method of automatic writing to treat people suffering from a “secondary consciousness”. Could the deepest layers of the mind contain egos that could explain past life memories, invisible friends, spirit possessions and so much more? We hear stories of “Zone 2” entities and discuss the impact they could have on our understanding of the power of our minds.

For our Plus+ members we take a look at the “dinosaur paradox” and discuss the controversial theory that palaeontology has got the dating of these prehistoric beasts incredibly wrong.
