In this week’s show we present Part 2 of the "The Humanitarian Crisis of the Americas" in which we address what the current president and political provocateur calls the crisis at the U.S. border.  Last week a televised speech took place which described undocumented immigrants as criminals, while supporters of migrant families define them as asylum seekers. We address the underlining issues that have brought up “The Humanitarian Crisis of the Americas.” We discuss Human Trafficking, Exploitation, and Victimization of Displaced Communities and clarify these issues instead of politicizing, misinforming or pushing any agenda. As polar-opposite political movements in the U.S. propose either a zero tolerance approach to illegal immigration or complete amnesty and integration of displaced communities.

In this week’s episode continue our discussion about the concept of “the trinity” in biblical theology. This subject arose from the question: is it possible to understand the nature of God from biblical sources? We address this by comparing Jewish and Christian approaches to describing or defining God. One author discussed is Dr. Michael Heiser once interviewed on our show regarding the Ancient Astronaut theory. In his presentations based on his dissertation titled “The Divine Council in Late Canonical and non-Canonical Second Temple Jewish Literature;” he discussed how based on both ancient linguistics and biblical mysticism the trinity existed in pre-first century theological ideas found in the Bible. We explore the traditions that lead to the two powers in heaven theology and how the early church fathers developed theological concepts, which could be considered to be inconsistent with the ancient Israelite worldview, portrayed in the Bible.

In this week’s show we continue our study of the book “The Judaisms of Jesus’ Followers: An Introduction to Early Christianity in its Jewish Context.” Instead of a book narration, we present commentary on the first few chapters and the concepts discussed in the book.

Raiders of the Unknown Presents: The Judaisms of Jesus’ Followers: An Introduction to Early Christianity in its Jewish Context Book Narration, we present the first chapter 5 as part of our audio-documentary series on enigmatic subjects. The Jewish sect which ascribed Jesus the title of Messiah was eventually transformed into a non-Jewish movement wholly separated from its Jewish context. The transformation was not instantaneous, and there were deviating or at the least parallel streams of Jesus supporters early on. A critical mistake which has been made, in my opinion, is the assumption that the Jesus movement was uniform even among its early Jewish followers. Analyzing the original movement(s) in the first centuries of the Common Era can reveal how the schism between Judaism and Christianity evolved. This book explores the fascinating world of Jewish life in the Second Temple Era and the Jewish groups that endorsed Jesus' messianic claims.

In this week’s show we present a study of Abraham Joshua Heschel’s most important book called "The Heavenly Torah." The civil rights activist who walked with Martin Luther King in Selma, wrote a series of books on Jewish mysticism and tradition which are relevant to our current state of affairs. In the wake of the most gruesome attack on Jewish Americans last week in Pittsburg at the Tree of Life synagogue; we must strive to understand these members of our society. At a time when Jews are maligned by politicians, Middle East activists and white supremacists, I would like to inform our audience about the intellectual and religious heritage of the Jewish people. In this introduction to Judaism we discuss the richness of this ethno-religious civilization and how Jewish concepts are foundational to the two other major religions.  As the spiritual ancestors of Christians and Muslims, modern day Jews are part of the ancient and historical community known in the Bible as the Israelites or Hebrews. The book discussed is named "Torah Min Ha Shamayim" in Hebrew and introduced western audiences to Judaism and its  commandments, ordinances and instructions. Heschel discusses in his Heavenly Torah spiritual terms which relate to the ways human are connected to God. He provides ways to interpret and understand the concepts that are important in Judaism and the tension between different approaches that the Jewish people have had toward Scripture throughout the centuries.
