What does the soul have to do with psychology?
It turns out, quite a lot. Suzi Lula returns to Mystical Sisterhood to dive deep into the realm of soul psychology, illustrating why the soul deserves a pivotal place in conversations about healing and integration. Join us as we explore these fundamental aspects of our being, their relevance in our lives today, and how they can guide us on our paths to personal growth and transformation.
So, what is soul psychology? Suzi explains, "Soul psychology marries the essence of the soul with psychological practices. The term 'psychology' originates from 'psyche,' which originally meant the study of the soul. Over time, we've drifted from this connection, living more from the neck up, valuing academic knowledge over soulful wisdom."
The essence of soul psychology involves nurturing an intimate relationship with oneself, beyond intellectual understanding. Suzi emphasized, "True transformation begins by embracing and healing our inner selves. This journey is not just theoretical; it's experiential. It involves self-compassion, emotional understanding, and rewriting the narratives of our past."
For those interested in a deeper commitment, the next Soul Psychology Certification program begins in January 2025, with interim courses available to get acquainted with the teachings.

Are you on a journey of finding your voice and using it in a graceful and effective way in your life?
Many of us are striving to discover what we want to say and how to share it in a way that creates conversations and builds bridges, not walls. If you resonate with the idea of expressing yourself with clarity and ease, read on to discover how childhood and societal conditioning have affected how you use your voice.
Today, let's honor our individual and collective voices by setting an intention to find and share our authentic voices. Whether within your inner circle, community, workplace, or the outside world, women's voices are being invited to the table more often. This episode is dedicated to women, amplifying our voices and sharing our truths.
Many of us sacrifice what we want to say to keep the peace, fit into a prescribed role, or make others comfortable. These patterns, rooted in childhood, continue into adulthood. As we work to shed what no longer serves us, we must recognize the universal challenge of expressing ourselves authentically.
What fears come up when you try to express yourself? Concerns about sounding pushy or aggressive, and the risks involved, can hold us back. To move forward, we must challenge these fears and give ourselves permission to explore new ways of being. This journey involves recognizing our worth and practicing self-expression in small, manageable steps.

Do you believe in the power of coaching to transform lives?
Being in the presence of a powerful coach who asks amazing questions is one of the delights of my life, whether it's a coach I've hired, like Melissa Ford, today's guest, or someone I interview on the podcast. The benefits and interchange that can occur with a beautiful coach are truly exponential.
Melissa Ford is a seasoned business and life coach, and I had the pleasure of diving into a conversation with her about starting something new, the tools necessary for growth, personal mantras, and getting real with ourselves. This episode resonated deeply with me, and I know it will do the same for you. So, let's dive into the highlights of our discussion.
Before recording, we set an intention for the episode and reminisced about how we first met within Susan Lucci's circles. These circles created impactful and powerful containers for personal growth and connection. Melissa highlighted the importance of having role models who step forward with courage and constantly stay on the learning curve.
Melissa shared her personal story about starting her coaching career. She candidly spoke about how she initially treated her coaching business as a hobby and struggled to make it profitable. It wasn't until she hired a coach that she began to see significant growth and transformation, not only in her business but also in her personal life.
In our conversation, we touched on the abundance of buzzwords in the coaching industry, such as "manifestation" and "abundance." Melissa shared that her approach to coaching is much more practical and down-to-earth. She focuses on asking powerful questions, challenging her clients to take action, and holding them accountable.
"Our minds love drama," Melissa observed. She noted that while everyone's story is different, the underlying conditioning and narratives are often similar. These narratives are usually built on feelings of lack, insecurity, and not-enoughness.
We all have the opportunity to question these narratives and reframe our experiences. Melissa encouraged listeners to start by taking small steps and showing up, even if they don't have a clear vision or feel confident.
She shared her journey of questioning her beliefs about aging and stepping into a new phase of her life with courage and enthusiasm. "There's too much life to be lived," she said.

Have you ever heard it said that the only constant in life is change? If you ask me, it's so true. I see it in my own life and countless others around me. Join me in this episode as I journey into the land of the empty nest (or free bird, as one of my sisters prefers to call it) and discuss how spiritual practices are supporting me through these changes, as well as providing support for my friends and family members.
This upcoming time of change has been greatly guided by my spiritual practices. Forming such practices and rituals has overturned many of my past beliefs. This has been supported through coaching programs, therapy, reading, and a commitment to myself. One of the earliest premises of Mystical Sisterhood was that joy and healing can coexist in the same space. This principle holds true for the change I’m going through now, combining joy, celebration, healing, and moments of emotional difficulty.
This place in my life, as my kids are leaving the nest, brings a shift in energy, quietness, stillness, and a slower pace. The emotions are real and shared among us. Moms and women, cultured to nurture others, often overlook their own growth. This experience has given me the gift of self-compassion and self-care, enriched by the practices and beliefs I’ve developed.
As I reflect on my journey and prepare for the changes ahead, I hold deep appreciation and celebration for all it encompasses. Whether you're going through change yourself or supporting loved ones, take care of yourself and reach out if you need support. I'm here for you, offering workshops, creative gatherings, and a space of love and understanding. We are in this life together, and our shared experiences make us stronger.
Thank you for being with me on this journey. If you feel a desire to dive deeper into self-exploration, join me for one of my upcoming events. Let's embrace change and new beginnings together.

Are you ready to embody your truest self? To learn what it means to read your body’s signals, get comfortable with the sensations of your emotion, and move into to high relationship with your body?
In this week’s episode of Mystical Sisterhood, I’m joined by the insightful and inspiring Casey Berglund, a TEDx speaker, podcaster, founder of Worthy and Well, and co-author of "The Mind Body Way: The Embodied Leader's Path to Resilience, Connection, and Purpose." Casey specializes in helping individuals reconnect with their bodies and their true selves through her unique teachings on embodiment. Whether you’ve been feeling disconnected or are curious about how to deepen your relationship with your body, this conversation is for you.
Casey discusses how her embodiment practices influence not just her personal life but also her professional life and the lives of her clients. By attuning to the body's sensations and emotional experiences, we can unlock deep wisdom and navigate our paths with greater clarity and confidence.
For those new to the concept of embodiment, Casey offers practical advice, and she introduces her B.O.D.Y. acronym as a simple tool to begin this journey:
- Breathe: Become aware of your breath.
- Observe: Notice the sensations in your body.
- Delay: Don’t rush to fix; just feel.
- Say Yes: Listen to your body’s wisdom and act upon it.
Through her work, Casey has seen how reconnecting with the body can lead to transformative changes beyond diet and physical health. Clients have ended unhealthy relationships, started businesses, and connected with their deeper purposes by following her embodiment teachings.
This episode is a rich exploration of how reconnecting with our bodies can lead to a more authentic, purposeful, and fulfilling life. Whether you are new to the concept of embodiment or looking to deepen your practice, Casey Berglund’s insights offer a valuable guide to starting or continuing your journey.
Join us in celebrating the wisdom of the body and the incredible potential that lies within us all. Thank you for tuning in, and we look forward to seeing you in the next episode of Mystical Sisterhood.

Are you ready to step into your true self and embrace the divine guidance within you?
If you're a lover of all things magical and mystical, you're in for a treat! In this episode, we dive into an enriching conversation with Heather Hanson, a Magical Mentor and Founder of the Creative Sage Cottage in Union Pier, Michigan. Heather first joined the Mystical Sisterhood podcast on Episode 18, and now she’s back for another deep and inspirational discussion.
We reflect on the transition from summer to autumn, discussing the invitation to rest, reflect, and prepare for the next phase of growth. Heather eloquently describes how we should allow excess and unneeded elements to fall away, much like autumn leaves, to make space for what truly matters.
The conversation shifts to the theme of divine awareness and personal evolution. Heather shares her journey of allowing herself to truly know that divine guidance speaks through all of us. She emphasizes the importance of trusting our intuition and not allowing external voices to override our inner wisdom.
Heather stresses the importance of maintaining a sense of wonder and curiosity. She uses the metaphor of a child marveling at a pile of rocks to illustrate how we should approach life—with an uninhibited sense of discovery and awe.
As we wrap up, Heather reminds us that divine guidance will always meet us where we are. We don’t need to be anything other than our true selves to be perfect in the eyes of the divine. Maureen and Heather also announce an exciting upcoming event—a workshop for the fall equinox and new moon in early October, where participants will create their own Wisdom Keeper Dolls, charged with personal intentions.
Join Us for a Magical Experience!
Mark your calendars for October 3rd and get ready to dive into a soulful, creative experience with Maureen and Heather. Participants will receive a kit filled with unique materials to craft their own Wisdom Keeper Dolls. This workshop promises to be a beautiful gathering of energies, fostering personal growth and divine connection.
Book your spot for the workshop and become part of this extraordinary journey of self-discovery and communal creation. We can’t wait to see you there!

Are you captivated by the mysteries of your dreams? Do you wish you could recall and understand your dreams better? If so, you are not alone.
Join me and integrative adult sleep coach and certified dream work practitioner, Leah Ann Bolen, as we delve into how our dreams support us in processing our waking lives and provide hope even for the most restless of sleepers.
Leah shares how her dream life started manifesting during her early corporate years. Ambitious and eager to climb the corporate ladder, she faced sleep challenges such as insomnia, sleep paralysis, and night terrors. Unsatisfied with traditional "fortune cookie dream analysis," Leah sought real, deeper understanding of her dreams. She began to notice synchronicities between her dreams and waking life, leading her to study dream work theory and practice under skilled mentors.
Leah explains that while people often seek straightforward interpretations of their dreams, the true power lies in the exploration. By examining their dreams with guidance, individuals uncover personal meanings that resonate deeply with their experiences. Leah sees herself as more of a guide, helping people unlock the inner wisdom contained in their dreams.
Beyond the metaphysical, Leah emphasizes the importance of nurturing the physical aspect of sleep. Society's wake-centric mindset often leads us to dismiss sleep, despite its critical role in our well-being. Leah talks about how our body's innate mechanisms need proper sleep, free from the influence of pills or supplements.
Leah emphasizes the importance of intention and practice in remembering dreams. She suggests keeping a dream journal by your bedside and taking a few moments upon waking to recall and jot down your dreams. This practice signals to your subconscious mind that you value your dream life.

Have you ever found yourself overwhelmed with the challenges of modern parenting? From navigating technology to raising children in a post-pandemic world, today's parents face unique hurdles never before encountered.
Fortunately, the concept of conscious parenting, or what Jenn Wert calls "connected parenting," offers a refreshing approach to tackling these challenges. In this week’s episode, we'll explore a compelling conversation about parenting, diving into the core tenets of connected parenting and how it can transform your relationship with your children.
Jenn Wert, an expert in social and emotional intelligence, has dedicated herself to helping parents lead with connection, curiosity, and emotional regulation. Her journey began at a young age, recognizing her own highly sensitive nature and translating that understanding into her work as a mother, educator, speaker, and parent coach.
We touch on the growing recognition of highly sensitive individuals, especially children. Jenn explains, "It's the background music of every moment... I think it started when I was very, very young." This sensitivity, Jenn argues, should be seen as a gift rather than a burden. "First, I would like for the curiosity and the exploration with parents and teachers working with children, for them first to intervene in ways you would with a highly sensitive child," she advises.
Jenn's message is empowering: "You are encoded with all the answers you need." Conscious parenting isn't about achieving perfection. It's about the ongoing journey of self-discovery and attunement to our children's needs. By fostering a sense of connection, practicing self-care, and seeking support when needed, we can navigate the complexities of modern parenting with grace and intention.
