Naked Diner

Hey Gang,

Well I have good news and bad news. The good news is that this week we have a delightful, though shorter than usual, episode with Author and long-time friend of the show Troy David Loy talking about his latest book Echoes of Forsaken Galaxies. This episode was originally intended to be a bonus show that we had hoped to put out soon, but due to some unforeseen circumstances you’re getting it now!

Which brings us to the bad news. The bad news is that you don’t get to hear the original episode we had planned to put out this week until later, and there will be no episode next week. Andy and I have several really great recordings lined up for the podcast including what should be this week’s episode of Andy’s participation on a panel at MIT. However, as you may be aware, here in the U.S. it’s Mother’s Day so I find myself on the other side of the country, dutifully armed with laptop to edit the show, and a thumb drive that contains the audio files which, at some point between Arizona and here decided to stop working.

All is not lost, I do still have the original files … on my desktop … in Arizona. But this does require us to take an unfortunate hiatus until I can get back to my hovel. That won’t be until after next week’s episode is supposed to go out though because I will still be traveling. So … we’re going to be compelled to take a week off.

Of course this could have been avoided if I had more room on one of my cloud drives … so if you, dear listener, would like to make it so I can afford to upgrade my cloud storage by becoming a Patreon Patron by going to http://patreon.com/nakeddiner Andy and I would certainly appreciate it.

We’re kicking things off this time with Travis LaSaffre, Chapter Head for The Satanic Temple-Boston. Welcome back to the Diner everyone! Be sure to subscribe to the show in the podcatcher of your choice because we have some great guests coming up like Humanist, activist, and political consultant Andre Salais; Dan Ellis from Atheists of Utah; Trans-rights advocate Jamie Genovese; West Coast Director for the Anne Frank Museum for Mutual Respect Ali Kellog, and MORE! Talk at you next Monday.

Well gang here we are at the end of 2016 … and what a shitshow of a year it’s been. But just before the show goes on hiatus until March we have one last thing for you. Dese’Rae L Stage from livethroughthis.org, who as you may remember we’ve been raising money for by cursing like sailors for the last few months. This week Jack talks to Des about what she’s been up to since her last time on the show and announces the Grand Total the Naked Diner Podcast will be donating to Live Through This to support Des’ continued effort to raise suicide awareness.

To find more Des please visit livethroughthis.org, @lttphoto on twitter, and myriad other places about the internets (just google her, it’s a distictive name … kind of sticks out).

If you’re feeling suicidal, please talk to somebody. You can reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 (veterans press 1) or Trans Lifeline at 1-877-565-8860. If you don’t like the phone, check out http://www.crisischat.org or http://www.crisistextline.org. If you’re not in the U.S., you can go to http://iasp.info/resources/Crisis_Centres/ for a link to crisis centers around the world.

Alright everbody. This is Jack, signing off until March. Please visit zxh-creative.com for all the past Naked Diner episodes as well as most episodes of my other shows. I’ll see you all in a few months!

As always you can find Jack at: https://twitter.com/ledflashing and http://zxh-creative.com … but I am on podcast vacation! So I might not get back to you right away.
