  • The Blame Game (Trailer)

Would love to hear from you! Send me a message.

Highly accessible information can be more harmful than helpful when handled without consultation, guidance, supervision and God's wisdom. Now we are self-diagnosing and self-blaming. Listen to this episode to stop playing games with who's to blame.

  • The Blame Game: To Blame or Not To Blame Myself for My Child's Mental Health

Would love to hear from you! Send me a message.

It was World Mental Health Awareness Day last Oct. 10! And aligned with this month's awareness campaign, I hope this episode, the last one, and the next two will somehow  help the World Health Organization (WHO) “raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health” one podcast at a time. Source: WHO Health Awareness Day Campaign

Some statistics reported by WHO include:

    • Globally, one in seven 10-19-year-olds experiences a mental disorder,...
    • Depression, anxiety and behavioral disorders are among the leading causes of illness and disability among adolescents.
    • Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death among 15-29 year-olds.
    • …failing to address adolescent mental health conditions extend to adulthood, impairing both physical and mental health and limiting opportunities to lead fulfilling lives as adults.

    (SOURCE: Mental Health of Adolescents)

Once we are aware of what could be happening in our family, what do we do next? Who gets to blame, who gets the blame?

Hope this episode helps us all be aware and be proactive.

  • Nanay's Nose: Art Sho(w)e (An Interview with Artist/Shoe Designer Naomi Banal)

Would love to hear from you! Send me a message.

Meet Naomi Banal, the artist behind the refreshingly big abstract paintings and unique use of colors and techniques in her every work, which have been featured by galleries all over town, and the islands! Described as a "can-do and driven hyphenated woman", I think you will enjoy meeting her for yes, being a can-do artist, but also as a can-do-my-best person. Hope you'll like the smell of fragrant striving, surviving, entrepreneurial insights and inspiring parenting through another special edition called Nanay's Nose. Please excuse the crumpling sounds (no, we were not eating) and the happy sounds of Miro and Yakob plus the motor vehicles of the highway of Tanay, Rizal. Also, forgive me for being quite late in posting this. I sure hope it is worth your wait!

Greeting you, listeners, at the start of this episode are the teachers and staff of The Learning Tree Child Growth Center in Quezon City. They are not just good teachers but are great learners!

Would love to hear from you! Send me a message.

If your first date is in an art show, what does this say about your and your date's personalities? If your kind of art is dated, what does this say about you? Wait, is there such a thing as dated art?  Though it would be interesting to know the answers to these questions, this episode won't give you that, sorry. We will however, know more about Dating Apps and touch on  stories of 10 Dating App users, as I kulit Artist Josiah Bien Sebastian about what in the world made him paint about online dating.

Would love to hear from you! Send me a message.

Do you do art? Do you still do art even as a hospital patient? Do you date? Do you go on an Art Show date? Do you use a dating app? This Nanay’s Nose episode might be something you would like to learn from.

I interviewed Josiah Bien Sebastian about his 2022 Art in the Park show “Swiped 1” and discovered a lot about the 10 creatively portrayed characters who opened up their lives by sharing their experience. I hope we get to appreciate their stories and understand the reasons why they use dating apps.

Here’s a link to the art pieces as part of the “Swiped 1” collection by Mr. Sebastian.
