Published October 2024. In this episode of "What's the Risk?" we take a look at the historic performance of the NASDAQ 100 Total Return Index since 1999.

A popular index with investors via Invesco's QQQ and Betashares NDQ in Australia due to tech focus and strong returns in recent years, but going back a little further there was a significant peak to trough fall that many investors aren't aware of. It's important to consider the prior downside because this is a concentrated index and it was only a little over 2 decades ago. Some investors write off the potential for large declines because the worst ones occurred back in the 1930's.
