How does Canada approach cyber security and the challenges of cyber diplomacy? In this episode, a cyber expert from the University of Toronto's Citizen Lab,  Josh Gold, discusses how Canada is addressing the challenges of cyber security and governance. In it, he discusses the fact that Canada has typically approached the topic on an ad hoc basis, and discusses some of the ways that Canada and multinational institutions can better approach the topic and create a safe and fair playing field around the world.

For its first French episode, NATÔ Canada! welcomes Jean-François Gagné, associate professor at the Department of political science of the Université de Montréal and researcher at the CERIUM. Expert in artificial intelligence (AI) governance and the impact of new technologies on democracy, he came to speak with us about the use of AI in the military and in international security.

In this episode Dr. Robert Cutler, a Senior Research Fellow and Program Editor for the NATO Association of Canada's Energy Security Program, interviews Mariana Liakopoulou about her recent article about how the global commodity market and national energy policy developments have affected US and European willingness to continue pursuit of their geopolitical and economic interests in the Caspian-region and Central Asian Oil- and gas-producing sales. This is a shift from the 1990s and early 2000s, when important projects were commissioned. However, these shifts in US and the EU energy policies, combined with ongoing market developments, do not imply that those Caspian-region and Central Asian states are losing their geopolitical significance.
