I have a special guest for you this week and am so happy to have caught up with Doireann Ní Ghlacáin while she was recently in New York working on a project for RTÉ Radio 1. Doireann is a talented Irish musician, Gaeilgeoir (Irish speaker), broadcaster, and one third of the popular "How To Gael" podcast—a bilingual podcast committed to reviving the Irish language in a really fun, accessible way.

It was brilliant to get to chat with Doireann about her work for RTÉ Radio 1 while she is in New York—as well as hear her perspective on Irish culture globally, the revival of the Irish language, contemporary Ireland, GAA shorts in Williamsburg and so much more!

My guest this week is a County Cork man and a true AI visionary—Conor Twomey!

Conor is co-founder of AI1 and an accomplished executive leader with over 15 years of experience tackling the toughest data challenges for top corporations around the globe.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Conor for several years in New York, and am always struck by his positive attitude, how much he accomplishes in 24 hours (!) as well as how generous he is with his time. He’s a Dad of two, a n impressive runner, and he consistently goes above and beyond to help others, especially through mentoring and supporting young professionals in NYC. I’m incredibly grateful that he was able to carve out time in his hectic schedule to join me as a guest.

Conor’s career journey has been nothing short of remarkable. He was the former Head of AI Strategy at KX, part of the global First Derivatives, a global consultancy and technology firm that specializes in providing solutions for the financial services industry. Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Newry, Northern Ireland.

Today, Conor is a sought-after speaker, known for his expert insights on everything from AI and machine learning to generative AI and next-gen data analytics.

In this episode, we discuss his career journey, the power of AI, and we also discuss how important mentorship is, running, and how sometimes saying “no” has been a game changer for his own health and wellbeing.

From Olympian to Humanitarian: Eamonn Coghlan's Journey is one to be inspired by! It was a pleasure to get to sit down with Eamonn, one of Ireland's all-time Great Athletes to discuss life as a kid in Ireland, his career defining move to America, and how Ireland perform in the 2024 Olympic games in Paris - almost 50 years on from Eamonn's first ever Olympic Games in 1976.

Eamonn is a long-time Ambassador and Patron for GOAL an Irish humanitarian agency founded by former Irish Press journalist, John O'Shea in 1977 when he saw the plight of street children in Kolkata (Calcutta) first-hand. Over the last 47 years GOAL has responded to many of the world's major humanitarian crises, working with vulnerable communities in more than 60 countries. I sat down with Eamonn  in New York as GOAL launched their Great Ethiopia Run Challenge. The Great Ethiopia Run is a famous 10k run in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at 9000ft altitude that takes place November 2024. Those taking on the challenge will complete the once in a lifetime run, as well as visit GOAL's humanitarian programs in Ethiopia to witness firsthand the impact of their support.

I really enjoyed chatting to Eamonn about his incredible impact on and off the track, including his contributions to the Irish-American community and many humanitarian and charitable Irish causes.
