  • Shattered Dreams, Unshakeable Faith – A Dream and Faith Restored
    A Dream and Faith Restored
What does it take to rebuild trust after it’s been broken? Joseph’s journey in Genesis 42–46 offers a profound lesson in reconciliation. He didn’t rush to forgive and forget but instead followed a step-by-step process to restore trust with his brothers. From testing their integrity to observing their sacrificial love, Joseph demonstrated wisdom in rebuilding a fractured relationship. Reconciliation wasn’t immediate—it came with a cost where trust is rebuilt gradually. This week, we’ll explore how Joseph’s approach mirrors God’s process of restoration in our lives and how we can apply these steps to our own broken relationships. Don’t miss this powerful message on rising above betrayal and finding true restoration!
    Genesis 42-46

Share a time when trust was broken in a relationship. What was the hardest part of rebuilding it?
Discuss the idea of a "toll bridge" in rebuilding trust. What does a healthy "cost" look like in a relationship?  Joseph asked his brothers to demonstrate sacrificial love (Judah’s offer). Why is evidence of change important in reconciliation?
Do you think forgiveness is different from reconciliation? Why or why not?
How does Joseph’s story mirror God’s process of reconciling us to Himself? How can this truth encourage you in your relationships?
ACTION STEP- Identify one broken relationship in your life. What’s a practical step you can take this week to start rebuilding the bridge?

  • Shattered Dreams, Unshakeable Faith – Turning Pain into Purpose
    Turning Pain into Purpose
Are you feeling forgotten in your faith, like you've been waiting endlessly for a breakthrough? In today’s message, we’ll look at how God’s work in Joseph’s life reveals His perfect timing, even when our plans seem delayed or uncertain. Joseph waited years in prison before being brought before Pharaoh, feeling overlooked yet steadfast in faith. Just as God’s “delays” developed Joseph’s character and prepared him for greater things, He may be preparing you in ways you can’t yet see. Join us as we dive into the story of how waiting can lead to purpose, growth, and God’s timing unfolding in powerful ways.
    Genesis 41
    Discussion topics
Joseph’s trials were part of God’s larger plan, not just about Joseph’s personal comfort. In what ways might God be using your current season to prepare you for something bigger?
    2.  What are some practical ways to keep your faith strong when God’s timing feels delayed? How can your Community Group support one another during these times?
Think about a season in your life when you felt you were “in the waiting”. How did you see God preparing you, even if it wasn’t comfortable? How did that time shape your faith?
ACTION STEP- This week, spend time in prayer about an area of your life where you’re waiting on God’s timing. Share with the group (if you’re comfortable) and ask for support and encouragement in trusting Him fully.

Dreams on Hold, but Not Forgotten
Do you ever wonder where God is when your prayers seem unanswered? Or why He sometimes feels silent? In this message, we'll see how Joseph waited two full years in prison after the cupbearer’s release, while God continued working behind the scenes. Still today He’s often at work in ways we can’t yet see. From Joseph’s journey to our own, today’s message reminds us: God’s delays aren’t necessarily His denials. Join us to explore the purpose in God’s perfect timing.
    Genesis 40:1

    Rising Above the Ruins
Have you ever felt like your life was falling apart, like the dreams you once had are shattered beyond repair? In this week’s sermon, we dive deeper into Joseph’s life as he rises above the ruins of betrayal, imprisonment, and false accusations. Despite being cast into prison, Joseph remains faithful, serving others even when he’s forgotten and alone. We’ll explore how God is present in our darkest moments, using them to prepare us for something greater. Join us for "Rising Above the Ruins," and discover how God’s purpose prevails even when our circumstances seem hopeless.

Joseph went from being the privileged son to a prisoner falsely accused. How do you think Joseph maintained his faith and sense of purpose despite his difficult circumstances? Have you ever experienced a time when you felt forgotten or overlooked like Joseph?
Genesis 39:21 states, "the LORD was with him." How does knowing that God was with Joseph even in prison impact the way you view your own difficult circumstances? How can we be more aware of God's presence in our struggles?
Joseph could have focused on his own pain but chose to help the cupbearer and baker. Why is it important to be mindful of others’ needs even when we're going through challenges? How can being outward focused bring healing and growth?
ACTION STEP - Consider one area of your life where you feel forgotten or discouraged. How can you turn this situation over to God and trust Him to use it for good, as He did for Joseph?

  • Shattered Dreams, Unshakeable Faith – Hope in the Midst of Heartache
Hope in the Midst of Heartache
What drives your decisions when temptation comes your way? How do you respond when your faith and integrity are tested? In this week's message, Finding Hope in the Midst of Heartache, we explore Joseph’s encounter with temptation and betrayal while serving in Potiphar’s house. Joseph faced overwhelming trials—sold into slavery, falsely accused, and imprisoned—yet he remained faithful to God through it all. Join us as we uncover how Joseph’s unwavering commitment to God brought blessings even in the midst of hardship and how we, too, can stand firm in the face of temptation and suffering.
    Genesis 39:7-20
    Discussion topics
Joseph resisted the advances of Potiphar’s wife by saying, "How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?" (Genesis 39:9). What steps can we take to stand firm in moments of temptation, especially when the consequences are high? Can you share a time when you faced a temptation or difficult decision? How did your faith play a role in your response?
Despite facing false accusations and imprisonment, Genesis 39:21 says, "The LORD was with Joseph." How have you seen God’s presence in your own moments of suffering or hardship? How does Jesus’ suffering help us to understand this?
Joseph ran from temptation when it was overwhelming (Genesis 39:12). What does it look like for us to “run” from the things that might lead us into sin today?
ACTION STEP- Take time this week to identify an area where you may be tempted to compromise or feel overwhelmed. Pray and ask for God’s strength to help you stand firm and trust Him, just as Joseph did.

Finding Hope in the Darkest Places
In this week’s message, Finding Hope in the Darkest Places, we continue Joseph’s journey in Genesis 39, focusing on how God can bring transformation even in the most difficult circumstances. From Judah’s scandalous choices in Genesis 38 to Joseph’s enslavement in Egypt, we will see how God’s blessing and favor can still reach us—even when life feels broken beyond repair. Join us as we explore how God uses our trials and dark places to bring about His greater purpose.
    Genesis 39:1-6
    Discussion topics
Joseph’s story in Genesis 38 highlights transformation despite his sinful choices. What areas of your life do you believe God is working to transform, even if the situation seems broken or impossible?
Joseph was called to serve Potiphar diligently even though he was a slave. How can we be diligent in serving God, even in places where we feel overlooked or disadvantaged? What practical steps can you take this week to serve well in your current situation?
Sometimes we think our sin is only about behavior, but it often starts in the heart. What are some heart issues you might need to address? How does true transformation begin from the inside out?
We see that Potiphar (who can represent us) did not get fully blessed until he allowed Joseph (a type of Jesus) to take full control over his whole house. Where do you need to give Jesus control of your “household”?

    Life Beyond the Broken Pieces
Have you ever felt like your life was shattered into a thousand pieces? This week’s sermon, Life Beyond the Broken Pieces, draws from the story of Joseph, who experienced betrayal, abandonment, and shattered dreams, but saw God's plan unfold in a much bigger way. Using the imagery of mosaic art and Kintsugi, we’ll explore how brokenness can lead to beauty when placed in God’s hands. Joseph’s journey teaches us that sometimes, being in the pit is the first step toward the masterpiece God is creating in our lives. Don’t miss this message of restoration, hope, and God’s power to turn broken pieces into something beautiful.

Joseph's life began with a dream but was marked by family dysfunction and unexpected detours. Yet, God used those very challenges to fulfill His greater purpose for Joseph. Dysfunction doesn’t stop God's plan, and the detours we face are often the foundation for our faith. Like Joseph, we must speak our dreams aloud, embrace the detours, and trust that God is working through it all. Join the conversation and see if you don’t see your own life within the life of Joseph.
