  • Episode 24 - Dr. Tara Wiggins on Give Kids a Smile 2020

This week, I spoke with Main Street Family Dentistry's Dr. Tara Wiggins about an event coming up at which kids aged 15 and younger can get FREE dental care. Set for this March 6, parents can call to set an appointment to help take care of months to years of missed dental care.

You can tell in our chat that Dr. Wiggins is such a caring professional who genuinely wants her patients to be comfortable and have their dental care needs met. She understands that sometimes things just HAPPEN and getting regular dental care and cleanings just doesn't happen, for lots of different reasons.

We talked about the very common fear of the dentist and things this practice does to help allay that fear and make patients as comfortable as possible.

  • Episode 23 - NC Senator Sam Searcy

Holly Springs is in NC State Senate District 17 and our Senator is Sam Searcy. He owns a vodka distillery in Durham, NC, but this interview focuses on the time thus far in his first term on the job in the North Carolina General Assembly. We talked about his campaign priorities, the struggle to get a budget for our state and how well the two political sides really get along when no one is watching.

Senator Searcy is a really personable man who had to hit the floor running when he took office just a year ago.

  • Episode 22 - Professional Organizer Daria Harvey on Time Management

My FIRST repeat guest is Professional Organizer Daria Harvey. Not only is she a really delightful person, but she's a genuinely talented and caring educator who can teach anyone how to improve their organization skills around the home or office. But in this episode, we talked about TIME MANAGEMENT in the context of it being January and the time of year when people resolve to do things better. One of the ways to ensure success in your resolutions is to manage your day a little better.

Daria provides accessible ideas for how each of us can make more of our time and still get the things done that keep our lives, families, and homes running smoothly.

  • Episode 20 - Advocate and Activist Matthew Schwab with Michelle Schwab

Matthew Schwab is a Holly Springs powerhouse. He is the busiest person I can imagine. Between his part time jobs, his volunteer work, and now his speaking engagements, I don't know how he has time to think! He advocates quite effectively for mentally disabled adults and rightly insists that they have value in our society and can contribute more than most think they can.

He's a charming, gregarious, funny young man and I feel lucky that he lives here in Holly Springs.
