What does prayer do? Is it meaningless babble? No. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working, but this is not power from people or of people's desires. Jesus taught us how to pray, we are to pray to our God our Heavenly Father and we are to pray that HIS will be done and that HIS kingdom come. Our will is secondary. We serve the King of kings and His will is what we are to seek first. We are to seek first the God's Kingdom and His righteous; and that is how we should pray

When the Pharisees prayed, they prayed so as to be seen by others; the Pharisees' prayer was not what pleases God. God calls his people to pray out of their loving relationship with Him. This relationship with God is their rich reward.

Our thrice holy God has revealed His hatred of man's sin. Through Solomon's parental wisdom expressed poetically in this list of seven hated things, we see the ease of how a life is broken in pieces, becoming worthless. Amazingly, God's love and grace can change it all- restoring our communion with Him! (Psalm23:3, Psalm 30:3, 2 Corinthians 13:9, Psalm 51)

Our thrice holy God reveals that He hates the fomenter of division. Those who thrive by alienating people undermine his blessed koinonia. Conversely, God promises His blessing for those who "make people and cultivate our unity in Christ". (Psalm 133:1 & Matthew 5:13, 1 Corinthians 1:10)

Our thrice holy God reveals that He hates the subversion of justice by means of the false witness who breathes out lies. By so doing, that soul ensures that earthly justice is lost. Conversely, God loves not only the pursuit of true justice, but the application of it. Justice is the basis for His great salvation! (See 1 John 1:9)

Our thrice holy God reveals that He hates the "feet" that carry a person away from Him and into the company of the godless. Conversely, he loves the feet that carry a person into the presence of God to worship (See Heb. 10:25).

Solomon's list includes the insight that God is aware of devious motives undergirding even today's storylines. God will not be mocked by man's power plays! What can fix this scheming?
