God does not tolerate sin. Proverbs 6:16-18 articulates seven of these intolerable things; indicating that God is holy, that man is sinful/broken, and that God can restore the brokenness of man through Christ. Like broken pottery can be put back together, God can restore. (Psalm 23:3)

The Voice of Wisdom is of great importance. God's spirit cannot be muzzled. When wisdom is needed, God will put it upon the lips of His messenger, enabling God's people to know what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

The Voice of God is like no other voice. God's Spirit is not only able and willing, but He has also been authorized to reveal what needs to be revealed. Like a shepherd, His voice is known by the sheep, calling them to follow!

The Voice of History is a powerful voice. God's Spirit is able to remind you of how He has seen you through past difficulties; by so doing, He bears witness to your spirit that He can handle whatever is in the coming future. Do you have the ear to hear His voice?

On this Father's Day we see that there is unfair human favoritism in family. But God's favoritism is not unjust. He does not have to save anyone- the just punishment for our sin is death/eternal separation from God- but God in his grace has chosen to save some- not because of any action these chosen did or could do- simply because God loves them. Are you one of these elect?

God's favoritism is amazing, His grace is amazing, that He would choose to save any of us is grace beyond anything that we as sinners deserve. Man's favoritism that denies people their inherent, eternal dignity as image bearers of God is not amazing. Such partiality is sinful and the Gospel of Grace is the cure. We are not to condone sinfully bias behavior, but in working to remedy it we must not neglect the proclamation of the Gospel.

In this season of fear Believers can rest in the truth that God does not give us a spirit of fear but of power, of love, and a sound mind. This is the flame we ought to fan. God's favor is superior to man's favoritism.

This Palm Sunday is unusual as we worship together remotely- our normal lives have been shaken. But Jesus has not changed... this King of Glory still reigns today. The mystery of His arrival in Jerusalem has been revealed to us- He came to free us from the condemnation of sin by dying on the cross which we will remember this Good Friday. We can have a confidence and peace that passes understanding if we are a part of God's unshakable Kingdom.. are you?

The world is full of transient things that can be shaken; but God's kingdom cannot be shaken. God says He will shake things up, but we can have peace that passes understanding in God and His grace and faithfulness- even in the most turbulent times.

Proverbs 16:9 says "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." We are not sovereign, but God is and he has a purpose for everything.
