Neal McDonough (born February 13, 1966, in Dorchester, Massachusetts) is an American actor and producer known for his commanding screen presence and versatility across film, television, and voice acting. He gained prominence portraying Lieutenant Lynn “Buck” Compton in HBO’s Band of Brothers and has since been recognized for roles in Minority Report, Captain America: The First Avenger (as Dum Dum Dugan), Desperate Housewives, Justified, Suits, and Yellowstone.
A graduate of Syracuse University and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, McDonough is also a devout Catholic. He is known for his personal conviction to avoid on-screen intimacy, a principle that has influenced his career choices. In 2003, he married South African model Ruvé Robertson, whom he met while filming Band of Brothers; they have five children and frequently collaborate on film projects through their production company.
In 2025, McDonough co-wrote, produced, and starred in The Last Rodeo, a faith-based drama where he plays a retired Texas bull rider. Notably, the film features his first on-screen kiss—with his real-life wife—aligning with his values.
