After years of advocacy by OHIP For All and other community organizations across Ontario, the Ontario government announced last week that it would expand medical coverage during the COVID-19 outbreak. The province is waiving the 3 month waiting period for Ontario Health Insurance Plan coverage. The province is also going to cover the cost of COVID-19 services for uninsured people who do not meet the criteria for OHIP coverage.
