This week we jump back into our Hosea series. The passage this week (Hosea 6:4-7:16) continues the cycle of the promise of judgment, but also God’s desire to restore His covenant people. It clearly describes the betrayal and insanity of rejecting God and forsaking his covenant. It also describes the effects the sin of idolatry has on them personally and the society at large. It is a somber account of Israel’s condition, but God gives us glimpses of hope!

This week we conclude our four part series on the Gospel. Reflect on Romans 6 and discover the impact of the Gospel.

N.T. Wright shares in his Roman commentary, "Romans 6 shines a bright spotlight on the dangerous half-truth, currently fashionable, that 'God accepts us as we are.' Will 'God's acceptance' do as a complete grounding of Christian ethics? Emphatically not. Grace reaches where humans are, and accepts them as they are, because anything less would result in nobody's being saved. Justification is by grace alone, through faith alone. But grace is always transformative. God accepts us where we are, but God does not intend to leave us where we are… The radical inclusivity of the gospel must be matched by the radical exclusivity of Christian holiness."

As we continue our series, The Gospel: It's a Life Changer, we will focus on its motivation. What's the motivation behind the Gospel? What motivates us to live out the royal message of the Gospel? Guilt? Grace? Meditate on John 1:14; John 3:16-19 and Romans 12:1-4.

This Sunday we continue our series The Gospel: It's a Life Changer. In this second part, we will focus on the messengers of the Gospel. Last week, we learned that the Gospel is a royal announcement that the King and Savior Jesus Christ has come to save his people from their sins and to rule their lives with grace and truth. Reflect on 1 Timothy 1:12-16 especially verses 12,13 & 16 and consider, "what message am I sharing with others?"

This Sunday we begin a four part series on the Gospel, its Message, its Messengers, the Motivation and Its Impact. Knowing the Gospel is essential in both coming to faith and growing in the faith.

The Epiphany, celebrated 12 days after the birth of Jesus on January 6, marks the visitation of the Three Magi to the young child Jesus. Upon meeting Jesus, they responded with joy, worship and gifts. Like the Magi, Christians are called to seek and worship Jesus today not for what they can get from Him, but for who He is. This week's sermon will explore how God reveals Himself to those who seek Him, and why we need to continually draw closer to Him.
