Nellie is a 22-year-old grad student earning her Masters and teaching license in Vermont currently. Her philosophy on running has always been to run when you want to and rest when you need to. If she don't feel like running, she usually won't go out because the run won't be fun, and she never wants running to lose its sense of fun! This is a lot of what we cover in this weekly episode on the show!
In Nellie's own words: "I never want running to become an obligation. The reason I think I have personally kept my passion and drive alive for over two years is because I do whatever I can to keep running fun for me. I try out new routes as much as I can, I run halves in fun places, I make fun weekend trips out of traveling to random states, I only go out for a run when I know I'm in the right headspace for it, and I surround myself with people who encourage my crazy dream of running in all 50 states. I keep running fun and run when I want to and rest when I need to. The day running isn't fun anymore is the day I've lost sight of my philosophy and need to change my actions, fast."
