The Dap-Kings have jumped on as her backing band, Ian Hendrickson-Smith (The Roots) is producing, and she even got to record with Amy Winehouse's equipment. The music on the new album consists of new recordings and a re-imagining of her grandfather Doug Randle's 1971 album for CBC, entitled ’Songs for the New Industrial State’.
