Happy Father's Day!  Marq, the MB8cast host, and fellow father joined us for this special episode. We kick off our Father's Day special with some special guests. Viv and Ella, future podcasters get behind the mic for the first time. They covered the hard topics; unicorns, sleepovers, and of course --- Father's Day.

After they wrapped up their segment, the dads talked about some underrated fictional dads we've come to idolize over the years. This list won't have name's like Mufasa and Uncle Iroh, as they get plenty of credit.

Our list contains both animated and live-action fictional dads. Some animated dads we highlighted include Grandpa Phil from Hey Arnold and Stu Pickles from Rugrats. On the other hand, our live-action dads include the likes of Floyd Henderson from Smart Guy and Michael Kyle from My Wife and Kids. Marq usually joins us to talk football, but he showcased his knowledge on movies, TV, and parenthood in this one! We closed this episode reflecting as parents and what we learned from all these great depictions of dads. Especially all the good representation that was out there for us. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was the second MCU show to hit Disney+. The show, presented as an action-adventure thriller, discussed serious subjects like race and classism. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier wrapped up season one in April, but it laid the groundwork for future MCU properties. In this episode, we were joined by K-Mitch, a good friend to the podcast and the first guest we had on the show. Similar to our Star Wars episode with K-Mitch, this episode focused heavily on race, particularly the comparison of Sam Wilson and Isiah Bradley -- two black men that took up the mantle of Captain America.

Another subject we tackled was the development of characters like Sharon Carter, Baron Zemo, and most importantly, Bucky Barnes. Also, we got into some of our highlights of the show. John Walker aka USAgent actor Wyatt Russell might've stolen the show along with a surprise appearance from the Dora Milaje.

A subject we touched on briefly was the scrapped pandemic storyline. Due to the real-world COVID-19 pandemic, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier went through a couple of rewrites. Amazon's Invincible aired its first season and put other superhero shows on notice! This show is another in a recent string of superhero shows that have taken our ideas of what heroes are and turned them on its head. Shows like The Boys and Umbrella Academy offer competition in the genre. However because Invincible is animated, the creative team can have more fun. We brought back Mike and Max from past shows to help us break down Amazon's Invincible season one.

None of us have read the comics, so this review is based solely on the information presented in season one. In this episode, we talked about the different heroes and villains we met throughout the show, and who we want to see more of in season two. We also talked about some of our favorite moments from season one and when we all saw the plot twist.  Obviously, we have to talk about everyone's new favorite subway scene and the other amazing fights we saw this season. We also took some time to discuss the future of Invincible based on the last minutes of the finale. Which characters are you excited to see make a return in season two? One for All is the most powerful quirk in My Hero Academia. Also, it is a very unique quirk, as it is able to be passed on from one user to another. As of recently in the manga and the anime, the quirk has been the center of attention. First, we have anime watchers who recently discovered that Deku will be able to gain access to six additional quirks outside of the power boost OFA gives him. Then you've got manga readers, who are aware of all its quirks except for one. In this episode, we break down all the former, current, and even hypothetical users of the quirk. We also discuss the different quirks inside OFA and how the quirks have been boosted.

However, before we get started talking about the different powers, we start with the origins of the quirk from All for One and the generations-long conflict between him and all the previous users, including his younger brother and the former number one pro hero, All Might. Deku has come a long way since our last My Hero Academia review and he's going to need all the power his quirk has to offer in order to defeat All for One and Shigaraki. Black Clover has given us some amazing characters. One of which is fire magic user Magna Swing. Magna Swing is a character we've talked about a lot on the podcast about not getting his time to shine. Black Clover chapter 293 just changed that.

Before we started giving Magna Swing his praise, we took a minute to discuss two things. The first was a positive COVID test that caused us to miss a few weeks. The second was taking a moment to discuss the recent passing of Berzerk mangaka, Kentaro Miura. The impact he's left on the anime world will forever be present and can be seen in the likes of stories like Black Clover.

Our Fairy Tail vs Black Clover series has reached its conclusion. Much like the anime for both these stories, all good things must come to an end. However, there is hope over the horizon. Even though there's no new Fairy Tail or Black Clover to watch, you can still catch up with your favorite wizards in the pages of their respective mangas. Fairy Tail is still going strong with its sequel series, Fairy Tail: 100 Year Quest and Black Clover's latest arc sees our favorite magic knights going to war with the Spade Kingdom.

In this episode, we discuss what's currently going on in the manga of both stories as well as speculate about their future, both in the pages and on the screen. Before we start though, we address a time that C. Ro was loud and wrong concerning a potential plot hole going back to Black Clover's War Arc with the elves. The Justice League: Snyder Cut was released last month on HBO Max. Fans loved this version of the film and it didn't feel like an edit of the theatrical release. However, The Justice League: Snyder Cut felt like an entirely different movie from the original. The Snyder Cut has been a film we've been anticipating for quite some time now. It was only right we brought back Gareth from our DC Fandome episode to go over this four-hour-long, fan-driven film.

The Snyder Cut was still not without its own flaws, despite being a huge upgrade over the version we originally received. This may be the best, and longest film in the DCEU, but how does it compare to DC's animated movies? What did you think about The Snyder Cut? Was it a great movie or just better than the original? Our Fairy Tail vs Black Clover series continues on to part 4. However, this couldn't be a Fairy Tail vs Black Clover series without going over the villains. In this episode, we break down the villains from each of these series and their impacts on the story. They say the best type of villain believes they are the hero of their story. That couldn't be more true for the magical bad guys in these franchises. We covered redeemable villains like Jellal Fernandez and Mars all the way to pure evil beings like Zagred. We also got to talk about the current villains are magic knights and guild mages are currently facing in the manga and how we hope to see them animated in the future.
