In this week’s action packed episode of Nerdy Show, we have a very science-heavy theme, surrounding SPACE!! IRONY!!!* We have our good pal Pixelh8 coming back on the show to discuss his upcoming performance this weekend where he will be performing at the British Institute of Astronomy at Cambridge University for the Science Fair. His performance relies heavily on the barely noticeable sounds of the machinery used to observe the barely noticeable sounds of space. That’s right, we have a Nerdy Show Exclusive for this episode!! We also discuss our extra early viewing of the movie Kick-Ass and our thoughts (SPOILER: WE ENJOYED IT!!)

Some big news that hex almost forgot to mention is that his baby, Nerdapalooza, was nominated for the First Annual GeekDad Awards! Now, we wouldn’t dare demand you to vote. But Brian would. VOTE FOR NERDAPALOOZA HERE!!!

Last year we celebrated our love of obscure video games and kicked off our Tetris Rap Attack competition - in THIS episode we reveal the winners! This humble competition asked fans to remix the music of hidden SNES gem, Tetris Attack (aka Panel De Pon) and the winners would be selected by rappers Astronautalis, Masurao of Krondor Krew, and MC Cool Whip to rap over them. In this episode, we're joined by Grand Prize rapping judge, storytelling rap indie sensation, Astronautalis, to discuss the origins of the lyrics he laid on the winning beat as well as the dark depths of his 40k obsession, and his love for this cute-as-hell puzzle game.

At last! Galdap has pulled a fragment from Nerdy Show’s lost season from the void – and none too soon! Just in time for their April 19th performance in Orlando, and subsequent return to Nerdy Show we’re proud to present to you Nerdy Show’s first interview with the Protomen.

This interview is an excerpt from the June 18th episode called “The Mega Show”, which celebrated everyone’s favorite blue robo-man, Mega Man. Of course, no robot episode is complete without robo expert, Mr. Brian Clevinger. “The Mega Show” was Brian’s second Nerdy Show appearance, back when he was but a lowly guest-star.

This interview is a piece of history – three months before the earth-shattering release of The Protomen’s Act II, just after their debut at Bonnaroo, and a month before their first Orlando performance at the 2009 Nerdapalooza. Featuring the world premier of “Keep Quiet” as well as the first murmurings of their legendary Act II release party which went on to rank second in Nerdy Show’s Top 20 Nerdy Things of 2009.

This unnamed episode from February 11th, 2009 is our earliest recording; pulled from the aether by arcane magicks. Cap, Mike, and Hex’s first show together is lost to time – never recorded – and this episode is possibly the second, third, or even fourth Nerdy Show recording. Before this, Aaron had been co-hosting a show called Talk Nerdy to Me on WPRK, a college radio station in Winter Park, Florida. After a while, he got sick of it and pawned the gig off to Cap and Mike. A wild Hex appeared; and the rest is the stuff of legend.

In this episode, the original Nerdy Show trio are joined by Aaron who tells us about what he saw at New York Comic Con (which happened in February back then). The crew talks about the latest happenings in nerd pop culture and saturate the Central Floridian radio waves with undiluted geek mirth. It was a simpler time… There’s dated references and old, downright historical, news including discussion about Mirror’s Edge, GTA IV: The Lost and the Damned, D-Pad Hero, the yet unreleased Ghostbusters video game and action figures, and Mike tells us how Street Fighter II‘s Blanka inspired him as a child.

This little podcast has come so far and my… what a journey it’s been.
