Welcome to the Neurodivergent Dreamers podcast. Your host, Allie, is the founder and owner of Mortar & Mystery—a rebellious, liberating, and radical wellness business empowering womxn to be their own revolution. She is here to steer you through the shitstorm of the hard times and invite more forgiveness at all times. Allie is here to cut through the bullshit noise, challenge your limiting beliefs, and lay it all out with brutal honesty and vulnerability. She also happens to have ADHD.
Burnout is a bitch. We all know it, and yet we all fall for it! ADHD'ers in particular. It's a nasty cycle, and even nastier is the main culprit behind it. Hint: it has to do with the Patriarchy (ugh). The solution? 42%!
Basically it's now been proven that 42% of your day needs to be dedicated to rest. This is backed by science (and science fiction). Allie talks about the book she learned this from, and what she is taking from it. And how you can learn to break the stress cycle, too!

In this week's episode, Allie talks about the dangers of waiting for happiness to happen to you instead of choosing it now. People often hold onto the idea that "I will do XYZ and then I will be happy" or "I will be XYZ and then I will be perfect" or "I will have XYZ and then I will be satisfied."
Allie questions whether you need to wait at all, and if maybe--just maybe--the thing you are waiting for has been waiting for YOU to choose it all along.

I had a pretty traumatizing experience trying to get a prescription for medication this past week. I know this isn't a rare occurrence for womxn with ADHD, and I felt called to share some of my history and events. I am not here to show you how perfect I am, I am here to share with you how I deal with not being perfect. ADHD isn't something that can be fixed or cured, but there are so many ways you can heal your living to support your brain. That is why I created Mortar & Mystery. It's still transforming and I'm still growing, and that is the beauty of it all.
If you feel called to work with me in a 1:1 session, my beta rates are still going until May 1, 2021. Booking is available on my website: www.mortarandmystery.ca

If you have ADHD, you probably suck at knowing what should be done first, because you have no concept of how long things are going to take, so why would you bother doing anything boring that is going to take, like...literally a million years?
Alas, this can lead to some seriously adorable accidents...or fantastic fuckups.
This episode is all about prioritizing and how to prevent yourself from putting too much on your plate. Say goodbye to those adorable accidents, fantastic fuckups, and start feeling satisfied.
